Its best to take from a known female in veg around week 3/4 i find is best, i have done both soil/rockwool got best results in soil, they like it humid for around 14 days best in a prop/dome, a very good tip is to cut right through a big leaf letting half fall away and half on the stem, this lets the plan (clone) swet, if you ever have to take off the lid do not piss about taking your time about it and spray mist the inside lid and return it, thus keeping it hot and moist and humid, make sure your clone is strong and slice the stem at the bottom at an angle, then put straight into root gel or water then into rockwool or soil, DONT WORRY about the yellow that will appear its normal, but give them 14 days to knit ok, maybe more, whan you take them out the prop/dome they will droop a little but then should pick up, root gel is good for them, try and find a very good dvd online called GROW DUTCH, or get yourself a good book, always good to read up on this kind of stuff, some kind of strains dont like to be cloned also, brainstorm is very good for it, but sometimes it just doesn't work ok. chill

1. Rockwool is a tiny bit acidic, is why it could take 2 weeks. Rapid rooters, are very neutral, grows roots a little quicker. The humidity dome is a must.
2. Yes, flowering plants can be cloned, but will almost double the time under the dome.
Once you see roots out the bottom or sides, start aclimating them to full light and air slowly, remove the dome for about 30 min give it a few hours, then open the dome for 45 min. give it a few more hours, then open the dome for an hour. Once you're up to an hour open, shorten the time under the dome from a few to a couple. I have done this and it aclimates them nicely without the wilt.
