I know it's retarded but what happens if you try to clone a fan leaf? I've always wondered that ever since I saw some horrible DIY cloner thread with a fan leaf in one of the cloning sites.

It won't grow. It may get roots, but it won't grow into a full plant. This is why you need to take a branch.
