i cut 6 clones and put them into aqua foam and then put them in a tray... im misting the clones everyday but how wet should i keap the foam so roots start to grow? should i keap water in the tray there in so they stay constantly soaked or should i let them almost dry up before i add more water? and how long about should it take for the roots to grow?

you don't want to wait till they almost dry up.. you want to keep them moist at all times.. moist, but not soaked for sure.. a lil water in the bottom of the tray isn't a terrible idea, especially if you have a dome on it as it will help to keep the humidity up.. im talking just a tiny lil bit of water in the bottom, not much at all..
as for how long before you see roots, it all depends on the strain, but usually you will see roots within a few days up to like two weeks or so..

you needsome cloning solution. and cloning gel. the bottom were you cut should be cut at a 45 angle, the the outer skin should be litely scrape back as well. i cut mt 45 just right below the node. a clear lide needs to be on the stray so light can come through. for a green house afect. your cloning solution in the water, and your plant dipped in the cloning gel were it was cut. the gel is a hormone that helps it root out. no light can get to the roots just the leaves. or go get you a cloning machien. i love mine. but a dome will work.
