Closed loop choice ?

I see the
"ABLAZE Mini Closed Loop Extractor with Splatter Platter and Sight Window"

Listing on Amazon for just under $700 with everything except the 'tain

For it to include everything it's the "frequently bought together" and the 700$ is reflecting that.

I'm just looking for something that I can use to make quality extract for myself, I see it basically caps out doing a oz from the reviews, but that's plenty for me.

I recently dropped $500 on a small rosin press but unfortunatly that just didnt go all that well for me.

If anyone has alternate advice I welcome it but it needs to be in the same ballpark price wise or I simply cant do it

Is that the one you were looking at, if so the price went down to 399. Not sure if you are aware but to use a system like that correctly you will need, among other things, a refrigerant reclamation pump and a refrigerant reclamation tank, probably also want a tank of R-600 n-butane with the dip tube, refrigerant lines to hook everything up. A vacuum pump will also be handy. Refrigerant scales are also handy (nice to know how much went in and out as well as making sure you never overfill the reclamation tank.

Even though it's closed loop you should still operate it outdoors in case you have a leak at one of the joints when you start a run.

In checking what is supplied in their $700 package, it suggests that they are supplying it as a passive reclaim system, with your vacuum pump serving to evacuate both the extractor, and the vacuum chamber.

The secret to quality extraction, and subsequent purging, et al, is temperature control.

For instance extracting below -30C, so as to minimize extracting the molecules longer than our targeted C-10 thru C-22. The tank LPG tank supplied is carbon steel, which embrittles at temperatures below about -40C. At those temperatures, the LPG isn't exerting that much pressure, but be aware of that issue.

Gas mixtures including -42C BP Propane are also therefore limited to its percent. As you can see by the attached chart, a 70/30 mix of n-butane and n-propane boils around -10C. Isobutane boils at around -11.7C, though not on the chart.

Those temperatures require access to a good low temperature chiller, dry ice, liquid N2, or something along those lines.

You also need good temperature control on your vacuum chamber. It doesn't look to me like they are providing that.

I explained what you told me in your first post and my buddy decided to hold off and save his money longer. Thanks again @Fadedawg you're the best.
