Closet Advice

Hey guys, i am new on here and new to the cultivation game. I am looking to grow a little in my closet for personal use; what is the most efficent method (hydroponics, SOG, etc) and what is a good resource for instructions on setting up your grow room?

Any advice will help. Thanks!

hi bc,

Do you want a simple first grow.. something that is easy success.. and not expensive..

Or are you thinking you want to dig in and invest 500+ dollars and maybe drill a hle in your floor?


You can go fluorescent... which can cost you less than 100$ and produce a nice yield of 4-10 ounces..

or you can go with an HID light.. somothing that gives off 400-1000 watts.. creates a lot of heat.. requires exhaust.... and will produce 4-16 ounces....

I would recommend starting with fluorescents and early flowering.... this way there is less chance of nutrient issues....

Thanks for the help! I am really looking for just a fairly inexpensive (but not CHEAP) and simple grow. I have looked into the Scrog method and that seems to be right up my alley. Fit in a closet, keeps the plant short, and produces some good bud.

What do you think about this?

Oh, this is WHAT I WANT!!!!

If I got 6 ounces out of my closet, I would be a VERY VERY happy man! :blsmoke::mrgreen: What do I need? I don't want to spend a lot of dough... 4-10 ounces every yield every 2-4 months would really make my day. It's for personal smoking, so I don't need to grow pounds.

soil
43 watt cfls (the more the BETTER)
pH tester
timer
fan (not needed, but good to have)

You said about 43watt cfls, could i use 2 for an efficient first time grow (my cupboard is 34" x 24").
Im from the UK, so could any of you point me in the right direction of where to go (in terms of a website).

Y9ou can start wth ONE light.. and then 5 days after germination.. go to 2 lights... and then at day 16 go to 3 lights.... and then keep increasing your lights as you see fit...

more light means more BUDS..

yes you can do it with 2 lights on 1 plant..

A website of where to get the lights. I know nothin about this "ballast" stuff serious lol. I need someone to point me to a site where i can get these 2 CFL lamps and the stuff required to use them :P

Also, not to offend the seemorebuds author, but is the yield just a little bit "boosted" to sell books? 8 ounces under CFL?

No boosting... no offense taken...

when you see the plants and all the pictures in the book.... you will believe :)


It is actually possible to get it up to 10+ ounces with the same set up, but just using different strains
