The Comet 300 is rated at 18,000 lumens and uses a full spectrum 6,400-degree bulb. Good for veg, I have not seen a bloom bulb though.

Seems like 15 little cfl's would put off a lot more light and heat as well.

Here is a picture of the mom under it, she outgrew the light quick.
That would definitely be THE LIGHT to get for veggin a momma... And it's mid spectrum too, I like it. BTW, nice mother plant you have there! She looks healthy!

I have a question about the mother plant.... knowing this^^^^ particular strain, how big/tall do you think the mother plant in the picture would get at the time of harvest if you were to flower her then, at that height in the pic?? I'm starting to get scared that these plants aren't going to fit in the box!!!

That is a pretty old picture of her, I had just transplanted it out of a 1 gallon pot into a 5 gal bucket. You can see the yellowing on the lower leaves, some nitrogen deficientcy from being root bound.

I had to pump this plant full of nitrogen watering with a strong mix of compost tea to get her to grow this big in the five gallon.

To give perspective that room is 3 ft wide, at its widest point the canopy is 4ft wide.

That plant and others have since been donated, the person who recently transplanted the large mother put her into a 32gal bin and said the 5 gal was nothing but roots.

A plant will double to triple in size during the first two weeks of flower, this strain Hindu Kush triples in size, so first a 5gal bucket would be too small for that plant to flower.

Sorry for my long answer, I'm baked. If you have height concerns, FIM a few times and train your canopy to the bucket. The plant in my pic was trained to the bucket for a more even canopy.

It's all good man, im baked too... Wow, that mother was transplanted into a 32 gallon bin?? damn thats huge!

Ok, so a plant, ultimately depending on its genetics, will grow about 2-3 times its size? So then the plant you see on the left in the pics, which I think is a Indica dominant cross, will probably stay that height since its already about 38 days into flowering? Thats awesome!

I'm sorry to bombard you with questions, but I was thinking the plant on the right is a Sativa dominant cross.... Just by looking at it and comparing the bud growth between the two, can you safely say in your opinion that its a Sativa dominant strain?? BTW, the plant on the right was the only one LST'ed at the end of veg growth... Bent the main cola down below all the other shoots and tied it down to a stick. It was much taller than the plant on the left... Also had to bury a lot more stem during last transplant, too

Thanks man! :weed:

very nice...grow more!!
Thank you, stonurse.. Welcome to the thread :blsmoke:

Just some pics of how they are doing three days after those last pics... lots of bud growth and a couple of questions..... let me know what you all think :-o

QUESTIONS

I'm pretty sure the plant on the left will be ready for harvest sooner than the LST'ed sativa on the right, which works out perfectly!

Let me know what you all think about those questions!

Buds mature at different rates, even on the same plant. Your plants are well past the stretch phase and are probably pretty close to their final height.

You think the one on the right is more Sativa? What makes you say that? I could not find what strains you are growing?

They look great man keep it up! :peace:

yea NewGrowth the reason I think the plant on the right is a Sativa dominant strain is for a couple of reasons... Well, first and foremost i'll have you know that the seeds that they germinated from were of an unknown strain passed down from a dealer who only sold sinsemilla... Well, every couple of pounds or so, he'd get a "special harvest" from his grower by request. The grower would then pollinate a female and give out a couple of seeded buds to each buyer... Well, the buyer that passed the seeds for this grow down didn't remember the strain or even the bud it came from as he had a small jar with a few seeds that he just gave me.... They were surely some good seeds though cause this guy "never smoked shwagg only dank"... and they looked good too

Wow, to make a long story short.. These are both unknown strains. Decent genetics, i would presume, but they are both "bag seed" so to speak. lol im baked goods right now

I was also looking at the leaves in comparison to the leaves on the left plant... They generally look skinnier to me....
Another thing that makes me think its a Sativa dominant strain is the actual bud formation... It just looks different... Kinda like a sativa's growth... maybe im just a nub, but from what i've seen so far is that the sativas are more "popcorny" and the indicas form denser and stouter growth almost immediately...
see what I mean though?

Popcorny Sativa?

Stout Indica?

Popcorny Sativa?

Stout Indica?

(I'm gonna post some more pics of the buds on the right plant so you can see the calyxes as well)

As, for the buds that are maturing faster....
Does that mean I can potentially pick those faster maturing buds, earlier? Uh-ohh... lol they'll all be gone

Gotta go get some dank, my guy called! (I hope this doesn't go on for much longer!)

Hey, once again thanks for your input bro...

Looks good, I'll keep checking out your thread ;)
Awesome, your grow is looking good too mang , ill be checking yours out too :joint:

welcome to my thread, heres one to ya bongsmilie

still lookin good to me...looks like its gonna be tasty
Oh hells yeah it will.... especially with this bio boost and a lil molasses she's gonna be sweeter than candy :weed:

I am ridiculously jealous! That is a beautiful grow you have going there! Im freaking out over the progress of my plants right now. But seeing your operation gives me just a little bit more faith in my grow. I dont know how much longer i can watch my babies struggle but i will continue to do everything possible to cure them. Congrats again on a nice set up!
