Closet Grow Problems

Hey yall. I recently decided I was going to start growing in a small closet with a door that I have. I had planned on using CFL's with clamp lamps to direct more light onto the babies. Is that a bad idea? Furthermore I recently reminded myself that there is no light socket int he closet, as in there is no light switch. So that about kills my grow plans unless yall have any suggestions. No light is no plant.

Do yall have any suggestions to fix my lighting problem and do y'all think using CFL's with clamp lamps is a good idea?

Thanks.

Yes clamp light will be ok as far as power issue I would just run a heavy drop cord into it or run new run from panel box and wire up a switch and receptacle

Ok good idea thanks, I guess I didn't think about the fact that clamp lamps have cords that plug into the wall and not a bulb socket...

What wattage of CFL's should I use in the vegetative state and what light timer to get them to flower the fastest, I know the yield will be lower. Like 12/12 or what?

Thanks

2fast92 you can grow great medicine with cfl. There are a few tricks though to get the best product. While you veg you will need to use a blue spectrum bulb. I use 6500k spiral bulbs. These cfls lose their effectiveness the further away they are so you need to get them as close as possible. As close as a few inches. If heat isnt an issue the more cfls yoy can cram around your plant the better.I veg with 18/6 light cycle and then when ready to flower I switch to 12/12. You will want to stick with 12/12 for consistent flower production. Also when that time comes for flowering switch out your lights to a 2700k spectrum bulb. This light spectrum promotes flower growth. Hope this helps in any way.
