Closet ventilation

This is my first run with a tent too so i really dont know but Im pretty sure light can still get in because its just a screen when the flaps open right? Maybe with the pots and the plant is above the vent opening. Maybe it won't effect the plant? When the light inside the tent is off and the light is on outside the tent. Can you see if the light hits the plant at all?
When lights are off I can see light through the vents. I have my light off from 12am-6am so it's not an issue in veg but in flower it will most definitely be. So I'm wondering what I can do to still let air in to cool my tent when my HID is on but no light inside the tent from outside when light is off?

I have grown in tents forever and have never had a problem from light leaks coming in from the bottom vents. I run my lights at night as well

Even when I had one in my college apartment bedroom, no issues.

If you are really paranoid go get a filter and cut it to the size of the vents. That way it'll help with any supposed light leaks, as well as making the vents easier to clean. Just replace the filter instead of dusting those fucking things. I hate dusting.

If you have round openings and square vents, just get some dryer duct hose and stick in in the round opening. Bend it U-shape and strap a bug screen on it.

What's on the other side of the closet?

What I did was cut a hole leading from my spare room to my living room. Then I vent from the tent in the spare room into the living room. The heat is not noticeable, but if it was I'd just open the windows or run the AC.

You're going to need a good fan and filter anyway..

On the other side of the wall is my living room/ dining room area. I kinda wanted to avoid making holes where you could see it on the outside of the closet. I think it will raise suspicion about why theres a vent hole there or something. At least if the maintenance people come in, they will know that its not suppose to be there.

I shut off one of the 600 watt LEDs and its staying consistently at 80/81 degrees. Im going to run the lights mainly during the night so when ever i need to shut the door ill just shut off one of the lights. Which won't be much at all since the lights won't be on much during the day besides during veg

Ok thanks i like the extra filter idea as my vents at the bottom do get dusty pretty fast I've noticed. It must be my tent because the vents let a significant amount of light thru when open as you can see behind the plant in pic. Sry for posting in ur thread rollone I just didn't feel my question was worth its own forum an was sorta on topic:)

Yeah i have a 6" fan thats pushing out 440 CFM with speed controller with a Phresh filter , 450CFM.

The lights are the regular ones i think, got them off eBay pretty cheap. Didn't want to spend a lot incase this grow didn't work out. The mars 2 are the square ones?

Yea, I see no problem with those lights.. Should work fine. A lot of people have grown good buds with them..
Mars 2 are the next generation.. I guess they penetrate further into the plant, but they cost twice as much :)
