CMH Bulbs

Ok here is what my hydro guy said about these new cmh bulbs.
He is going to stock some anyway but i am not going to buy one as he and phillips don't recommend them for growing with.
The new sunmaster 400s seem to be a much better all in one bulb than a cmh as he says.

I am going to give the new sunmaster bulbs a go as this guy has never lied to me yet and i wont need to buy a new ballast for them either, they plug right on into my hps ballast:mrgreen:

This is not an advert either by me for them as this is an English site that wont send most of its items to the usa anyway its just the honest info for you all to see and what i am going to do and use for myself.
Just in case anyone reads this and thinks that i am just another advertiser:blsmoke:

Hi Nat,

Firstly apologies for not getting back to you sooner, I have been waiting for our supplier to get back to me, which he has finally just now done.

We have some 250W and 400W CMH lamps on order with Phillips, they should be with us within the next week or so. Feedback from the supplier suggests that they are of limited use for horticultural applications as they are designed around what the eye can see (great for looking at clothes in shopping centres etc), as opposed to what the plant needs.

It’s also worth pointing out that if it’s a 400W halide lamp you are after then Sunmaster have a new 7200K halide on the market that will easily outperform the Phillips 400W CMH that you are considering, and will also be slightly cheaper.

Grow Lights > Grow Lamps > Metal Halide Lamps

When we have the stock in and up on the website I will drop you a line to let you know.

Again my apologies for taking so long to reply,

Kind regards,

Tom Green
