CMH flicker

Bought a 315 CMH, came with a 315 prism lighting science ballast and generic HID batwing with a mogul hid to cmh converter piece. Turned it on first night everything fine. Plugged it in this morning and wouldn’t turn on, flickered once. Plugged back in and is now on. Are these converters dangerous? What could be the issue? Newer home with fine electricity setup.

When you plugged it in the first time, did you leave it plugged in after it flickered?

I have noticed that many CMH lights won't always strike an arc on the first try. They wait and try again and again. My nanolux CMH lights can take up to a couple minutes to get going.

Should’ve left it on for sure the best troubleshooting of all. Relieved to hear your experience thank you for responding. Sun Systems jus started selling Prism Light Sciences stuff so I doubt it’s the ballast. Bulb is new Phillips doubt it’s that. I was thinking it was either the CMH mogul adapter or random firing issue like you said.
