In order to use Co2 you need a sealed room.

To burst the Co2 for your room you should use a controller/monitor which can calculate it all for you.

If you are using Co2 and a window unit AC, if you have the AC on at "lights on" it will just suck out your Co2. YOu need a dual hose AC, Mini SPlit AC , or a home's Central AC for co2 to be effective. Co2 should only be used at lights on, thats why the guy above me suggested you get a controller to measure your Co2 output at lights on, most of them come with a light sensitive switch that will automatically turn them on at "lights on". The only other way is to be a real good green thumb and be able to calculate how long your co2 regulator should be on for to reach a desired co2 PPM of 1200-1500.( Please be Careful and know what you are doing you could kill yourself if you dont)

You're good to go then just be sure to seal everything up, suck air from another room, shit I even weather stripped my grow room door and that right there alone saved me a extra couple days on my co2 bottle.

Your window unit should work fine and will not suck the co2 out of the room, that is not how they work. Depending on what type of controller you have, you may be able to plug your ac into the controller as well.
Window units are far more efficient than portables, however split systems are the best.

You still lose Co2.

im trying to save up for a split ac and thnx for the advice bruh
about 2k brand new. Look for the easy install ones most of them require a HVAC specialist but there are a few out there that are user friendly and anyone can install them.

Care to explain how a window unit "loses co2?" no doubt it's not 100% sealed so a minimal loss is inevitable. However that loss really is negligible. A dual or single hose portable however like you mentioned is far less efficient and actually loses more co2 than almost any window unit out there. In a perfect world ductless systems are like you mentioned the best.
I agree Mini Splits are the best. Just saying you still lose a good amount of co2 plus wherever that window unit sits will have that area stinking like your grow room.. I'm not a HVAC specialist I just grow with co2 in a sealed environment an over the years I have tried different AC's everything but a mini split. I grow in AZ and all the house here come with Central AC so a spare bedroom was converted into a grow room where I have the central AC in that room cooling everything. Trust me I have listened, read , and argued about what AC's work best with co2. I will tell you this much I have seen some crazy DIY conversions done to window AC's and Dual Hose AC's to make them not loose co2 and work like champs.

I've got a sealed room within a room. The sealed environment is 1k sq. ft. So smell outside isn't a concern, as the ass end of the ac hangs into the other room, still indoors however. Smell.....uh ya everything smells, all 3 levels of my house! No gettin around that!
Anyhow I'm runnin a 15k btu window unit, 6k watts on movers, sealed environment etc. 15k btu isn't enough for summer but fine for winter as I use cold air to cool the lights. In any event I'm getting nearly a week out of a single 20lb. Bottle, 6 days to be exact. With a full room mind you. Amazing efficiency ya right I know it could be better. But a 20 lb a week in a full 1k sq ft room ain't too shabby. I know dudes who piss through 20's like there balloons. I could seal it up better probably buy another day or so, but I'm happy. Using a sentinel chhc4 btw.
I'd love to get a split unit eventually, however a window unit IMO is the second best option.
If you don't mind my asking what kind of setup do you have, how efficient is your co2 consumption?

You my friend have a properly sealed room and I respect your knowledge on sealed environments and Co2 usage, why you ask? Simply because I get 6-7 days on a 20 LB co2 tank as well. I know you have everything dialed in because thats exactly how often I fill my tank up and how often most sealed room growers fill their 20 LB tanks up too. You know what though I dont get that much smell untill you hit the hallway of my grow room of course I have a carbon filter on the ground too running 24/7 but my odor isnt that bad then again I'm not running a 1k square foot grow room ( I envy you). Wish there were more Window unit AC guys who could read this thread.

My set up is in a spare bedroom so 12' x 12' x 8 ' high. I run only one 1,000W ( veg with a T5) I pull air from another empty bedroom 675 CFM fan through the duct and hood and into the attic. I really dont exhaust because of the AC ( Controlled Environment Agriculture) the ac, plants provide fresh air plus the carbon scrubber cleans the left over stale air, that and opening my door once a day brings in enough fresh air. In flower I will roll my shitty single hose AC in there and put it on dehumidify mode during lights out. Lights on my temps maintain about 75-78 degrees.

Sounds to good to be true.. 500 dollars??? Mistsubishi and SamSung make good ones. Whatever you decide ( Its your money at the end of the day ) make sure you can install it yourself or else you will have to get a handy man or HVAC dude and you dont want them seeing your grow room.

Good to know I'm not too inefficient! To think I used to go over a month in between co2 fills was crazy! Granted that was a closet grow down south. Sometimes wish it was smaller though as my setup now is a full time job at just under 2k sq ft of space between the 2 rooms.
Probably going to switch to a split system this next spring though as its that much more effecient.

Yeah I know I hear about guys in tents and closets talking all high and mighty about going a month or two on a 20 LB tank but I could do that too in a small tent. Anyways yeah I have a full time career and family and my 12 plant legal limit is like another job I get home do some dad stuff then I'm in the garden for an hour or two night. Happy growing dude..

Mini splits are really the only way to go. Portables and windows will leak out co2. I have a dual hose portable that still leaks some out. But if you have the money and you want to do it right, go with a mini split. You can get a top of the line 24k mini for like 1300 bucks shipped. That can cool 4k bare bulbs easy. My room is 10x12x10. 20lb tank lasts me a week. ^^This guy is prob in AZ too.. right now it's perfect out for growin and warmin up. I haven't even been runnin co2 or AC.. I've been just venting with an 8 in fan and my room has been runnin 71-74 lights on.
