I did a grow with it , bit messy but the plants turn out real good . I also have used it as a medium in soil grows as it keeps the mix loose .

if your getting moss its because the medium your growing is is...
A. moist or wet
B. exposed to light

so if you want to kill the moss, its not bad, most growers have it every now and then......cover the tops of your medium with a paper plate or some mylar. should clear up the moss rather quickly.

I use Coir (cocogro) for my banana plant. I mixed it with rinsed Hydroton. I used such a big pot that it takes a full 7-10 days between waterings. I used to have it on a timed drip system so it would get 2 minutes/day. The mold would get really bad when I watered it frequently, so now I just water it when it needs it.

If you use distilled or RO water, make sure you add some Cal-Mag into your feeding program, as coir likes to leach it out rather quickly.

What general type of system design are you using? flood & drain, top feed etc?

Also a Canna rep told me to use flood to waste. This seemed soundbut very messy and perhaps expensive (nutes down the drain every time?) and requiring alot of tending?

Do you find the coco medium staying too wet?

How did you decide on 3 times daily?

Thx
