Any bikes dangerous. Depending whos riding it. I like to think of myself as quite safe and alert ⚠ it's literally gonna be used for low speed commuting mainly. I just want the gsxr in all honesty because it's the 1st 125 they have ever made. Power to weight ratio is best on the market. And suzuki are known for good customer service. If I'm fast enough I might be one of the first people to own one. The Mrs is trying to talk me into saving 2 grand and buying a lexmoto hawk. (rice burner) they do look nice though.

I'll say thanks but no thanks to the buck converters. Too much wiring/effort. That driver I have can sit in the drawer till apocalypse times for all I care and be a constant reminder to not be so impatient. Learn my shit. Then make a purchase haha.

Agreed about the licencing being fucked. But I'm gonna use my 125 pound loophole to buy me 2 years. Like I said. Defo my best option at the minute.

And it's got me unbelievably excited. I know I'll have people ribbing me for rocking a 125cc but in 40 plus years. Ill be able to say I had one of the first suzuki ever made.and first to land in the UK. (they're not shipping them to dealers till September) defo post a pic up when you get a chance.
The Mrs dad has a 1000cc honda varadero Sat in his garden doing nothing the blasphemer. You should get yours rebuilt :)

To be honest, I've had quite a few motorcycles and I can say I'm lucky to have survived them.

Ride paranoid; most accidents aren't the cyclist's fault but they end up the worse for them anyway.

Honestly dude, it's probably better over there. Any asshat that can pass the written here can jump on a Busa or a Super Duke that same day and pretend they're fuckin Guy Martin. Then there's the giant hillbillies on their 1000lb cruisers towing trailers and shit along the coast roads, blasting some terrible played-out garbage on 6 speaker systems... At least I can park my bike somewhere and it will be there when I come back though. :mrgreen:
I digress...
The Shadow will definitely be rebuilt. Just needs seals and bearings, and a little paint on a couple parts. So close!

If ya get a chance to ride a 'Busa" do it.

There actually a really nice bike to ride and handle extremely well. Not as sharp and flickable as a smaller bike of cause but not that far away in the mid to fast corner to corner stuff on the road. Comfortable to and easier than what you would think in heavy stop start traffic- but not as good as decent scooter naturally.

Makes me want to go out and buy one now....

(edit : they are still not a bike to even test ride if you have not been riding a responsive bike for a year or more)

Well I spent my day riding a kawasaki klx 125 but I passed my test and officially started a driving job the day I did. So I'm absolutely buzzing with myself. @ttystikk I'll stick with the piker bike for a while mate

They just make a bigger mess on the highway.

The best advice I can offer is to ride paranoid; they're blind, stupid, distracted, grumpy and a few ARE out to get you- so ride accordingly!

Be safe out there.

I got full protective gear. And I've seen very very close first hand a head injury from a slow speed impact (was with a 7.5 tonne truck and happened to be my little bro that was killed) I've seen the world a different way since that.
And I think my reaction times are good plus I won't smoke and ride so I should be good.
"my son needs me now" pops in my head anytime I'm about to make a daft decision. Am I becoming a grown up? Lol.

What do you ride BTW bro?

I used to ride a wide variety of mid displacement street bikes (550-900cc) from the 1980s and 1990s.

I miraculously survived my adolescent impulses and now I ride a minivan with my seatbelt firmly cinched down.
