How soon after the balls show up do they start releasing pollen? Can you see if they have released pollen? I found 2 males so far, and put them in a separate room. I want to use the pollen from one of them to fertilize a branch or 2 for future seed.
Do I have to resort to a "clean room" environment, and put on a lab coat when I enter my room, or will just washing my hands and changing my shirt do the job? And are they OK in another room, or will they still fertilize, say thru the AC vents? Do they need to be outside?
