VonDank will be there with 5 strains.....GODZILLA/ORANGE KRUSH/FLYIN' HAWAIIANN/NAPALM HAZE/ and SUPER SOUR. Hey Doog---I hope we can do that "hydro -vs- organic" Taste and smell comparison that we talked about on another thread.(lol). Should be a great time----man I need a vacation and some fun!!!. The only thing I'm curious about is the competition just how well you grow any breeders strains or your own strains. One post had listed they were entering 40 strains???. In any case I will be entering only my own... Should be a blast... If you plan on entering you better get your shattt flowering in the next 2 weeks if you want to have time for a proper dry and cure...

I'll be there. :) I'm a bit concerned about the testing being solely THC based as I like plenty of CBD in my bud as well.

Were going to be up there Thurs afternoon so anyone that wants to meet up before the crown and have a little get together(lol). Should be a great time. I think they will have live judging as well as the THC certification. They should have a couple of categories besides the crown itself. Maybe have a class just for the highest THC count. I'm really excited about having a true certification of my strains...

Put a fucking warning label on that shit DR. Von warning: you may not be able to function properly after digesting this product do not attempt to do anything of importance value or personal preference for you will not give a shit after taking this product. Please keep out of the reach of children and overgrown children alike. This may lead to insane idiotic ideas that should not be taken literally or attempted although with too much effort involved everything could be avoided.

Hmm, so now Romer is saying that banning dispensaries isn't necessary. So why is my BS alarm going off? I can't see why he would suddenly change his mind about the issue unless someone bought him off with a big fat campaign contribution. Only other thing that would make sense is that his colleagues are telling him to drop the subject if he wants to continue receiving their support on other issues.

That's some funny shit... If the Napalm Haze doesn't make a run for the crown THC, I don't know what would-heheheheheheh:bigjoint:. I would hope that there will be tons of great competetion just for the shear testing of it. I don't care about the crown win as long as I get to taste all of the killer meds that should be there.

Speaking of which what's the deal with this being such a booming business and so many places opening and NO ONE ASKS FOR HELP...they all seem to have all the knowledge they need(Which is bullshit I just gave this guy a piece of my mind down at a cannamed about quality and the type of people they have growing for them). They all think its about grow weight sell grow weight sell NO love absolutely NO love put into ANY of those grows NON...and it shows and I can tell with harsh flavors and poor burning...I NEED TO GET A JOB GROWING FOR THESE FUCKS. I love growing for myself just as you all do but knowing what kind of jackasses are trying to pull out there is terrible. There's a reason why swag is soooooo much less than bud because there is no care in it it's massive fields packed into tight bricks and shipped. Which is pretty much the same thing that is out there now minus the tightly packed into bricks everything else seems the same....WE NEED TO SAVE THIS INDUSTRY

Mile High,

Assuming the legislature doesn't hand the whole industry to a small number of dispensaries/growers or something equally stupid those people will eventually find themselves losing busines to dispensaries/caregivers that provide better quality. They'll either have to increase their quality or drop their prices to stay in business, and since most of them are all about the money dropping prices won't be an option they will want to consider(not that they will have much choice eventually). My guess is that if the state government leaves things be that within 4-5 years there will be fewer dispensaries total, but they will carry more variety, be higher quality, and have lower prices then what they have today. The laws of supply and demand will see to that.

but ed what about the fact that the number of mmj cards is like quadrupling everyday we are going to have to get growers growing unreal amounts of high quality

The boom will level off eventually and then the normal laws of supply and demand will regain control. I am willing to bet a substantial sum that 30-40% of the "Me too" dispensaries out there will be closed when the lease expires.

True empowerment of patients will come when we are able to break down the myth that growing your own meds takes thousands of dollars in equipment and nutrients along with a degree in botany. Anyone that can lift a 1 gallon water jug can grow plants.

As long as the government stays out of it the laws of supply and demand will kick in. Right now top shelf MMJ is selling for $450+/oz at pretty much every dispensary I've been to, and at that price there is huge incentive for people to start growing for both personal use and resale. As more people start growing the supply will increase until the market for $450/oz MMJ is glutted, at which point people will start lowering their prices to get rid of excess inventory.

As the price drops the demand increases because more people can afford the lower prices, but as the sale price drops the number of people willing to supply decreases as well, and eventually you end up at a point where the supply at a given price is basically balanced by the demand. The end result of all this is that prices will tend to drop as long as there is competition and ways to lower the sale price while still making a profit, and will stabilize someplace close to the lowest price where the supply and demand lines cross each other on a graph (i.e. the lowest price the growers can still make an acceptable profit selling at).

When you start adding in the way economy of scale could effect the product price it's pretty obvious that the price for MMJ could fall by 50% without seriously hurting the ability of the growers to make a profit. They just need to start thinking about the idea of making a lower profit per unit while making up for it by selling more units total. Every other business works the same way, so would should MMJ be any different?

Whats up Colorado growers..

I was a former member of Overgrow back in the day (2001) and did a few grows in New England before moving to Colorado about 7 years ago.

My question for everyone here is: I love growing cannabis and have missed it since the last time I packed up and sold my equipment. I honestly dont smoke much anymore, but I'm interested in getting back into the growing side as a moonlighting business. I have some conditions which would seem to qualify me for a license, though I'm more interested in growing good herb for a small number of patients and/or professional dispensaries. My intent is to make a modest amount of cash to supplement my existing income and have a good time growing some interesting strains.

I've gone as far as ordering a light and picking up some supplies from the depot, etc. I have a great space in my home away from the living area, some discretionary funds to help get properly set up and a resurging knowledge (haha) of cannabis horticulture from back in the day. I have some reservations about the market being flooded and what the future of the co-op grow business will look like in the future. Do you all think there is room for a grower like myself? Is there a need for good supply of quality meds at decent prices or is the market totally flooded?

Again, I'd love to get back into growing and it looks like I'm on my way, though a little insight from those of you on the 'inside' would be very much appreciated.

IMHO, regardless of the basic economics, there is a high probability that there will ALWAYS be a demand for HIGH QUALITY medicine. Especially, since there is such a wide array of strains (ie, smells, tastes, appearance, etc.), the never ending hunt to try the 'best' medicine, widely used among general population (high demand and increase in acceptance), and the typical nature of all commodities in the open market/US market. There are different qualities of everything sold today gas, milk, produce, beer, cigarettes, the list goes on and on. Hell, depending on the area of the country, its hard to find a good tomato, orange, etc. No reason that MJ won't be the similar in nature, especially considering it's high demand, in a high demand geographic location. However, this is all based on the somewhat relative opinion of 'HIGH QUALITY'.

Anyone familiar w/ a Dr in/around Ft Collins? Cheers :bigjoint:
