Colored Paper reflection?

I got to thinking the other day as i was setting up my grow room, if you used colored paper on the walls(red, blue, purple) would it give the plant that color of the spectrum, because the paper absorbs all the light except for the color that the eye sees so by that logic would it absorb the light of your grow lights and only reflect back the desirable spectrum that you choose with paper, or am i smoking something?....besides weed

yeahhhhhh man ur smoking the smart arse strain. I was thinking that once i have some flourescent sheets of paper that reflect sunlight and artificial light on that colour like a bitch. i mean one of the pros of coloured paper though it will make ur grow room funky which is always a bonus... :D

more thinking.......the only problem that i could see with this is you plant not receiving enough lumen from your light since if your paper absorbs the light spectrum except for the blue( if it was blue paper) then you only receive the lumens in the blue spectrum so say your light was 1000 lumen but only 10% in the blue spectrum they you would only receive 100 lumens. so therefor not very effective but then i guess you would have to take into account that its just the reflected light that is "delumenized" to only produce blue and also another thing to look at would be the efficency rating of the reflected light because plants dont absorb 100% of the lumens so if your 1000 lumen bulb has a low efficiency and only gets 500 lumens to the plants at 50% but the reflected light by the paper may be all absorbed since its useful blue light

how about a filter on the light? ever see a darkroom for developing pictures? they put a red filter to keep out the white light also a screenroom for exposingsilk screens its all done by photo sensitive material usually we use a yellow filter on the lights so the screens never "see" ultraviolet spectrum.

your basically removing all the benefits of having a reflective surface, that is, extra lumens. All other benificial light is absorbed and converted into heat.
