Colorful Lemon kush clone?

Hey guys i got a question i got a nice close up of the one branch thats turning a bit purple but i noticed this a few days ago and am wondering if the whole thing will stay like this the growth was only at the top of that one branch but is working its way down that one as of today 2 days after the first picture was taken. This girl started budding first out of my two sativas and it is now like a week and a half into budding. The rest of the plant is still perfectly normal looking the same lush green bright sativa look as when it was vegging. If anyone has any ideas on if this is just the season change due to it being late august or if its actually a deficencey i know ive had a cal mag deficencey for the whole grow because the clones had them when i got them i got i was told thats how you get the pinky ish purple stem but idk im still a noob at this stuff lol anyways appreciate the help guys thanks -LUXlemon kush purple ish branch.jpg

I'm thinking it's a disease. I have it also, it spread. I'm seeing this topic pop up on multiple forums with no clear answer. I can't afford to pull my plants. They are in week 3-4 of flower and some of them seem to be growing out of it producing mostly white pistils at least that's my hope. This seems to be wide spread problem this year. Purple buds on plants without purple in their genetics. I don't believe it's a deficiency but I'm not a botanist. I hope someone has an answer seems like yields are going to suffer. I'm going to let them go and find out what happens. I keep seeing people saying they're going to chop but that doesn't help find what's happening. Good Luck.

Hmm weird yeah everything i fpund says lemon kush doesnt usually turn purple and in person it looks more black to the eyes so most definetly could be a problem my other ones dont have it so im probably okay with those ones i might be able to just let it go out and send the bud in for testing or ask someone i know for advice hes been growing for over 25 years and should know if its something wrong ill get back to you tho

Also i forgot to mention i got this clone from someone else who could have potentially mixed it up wuth a pink kush clone because that was another one he was going to give me... When i looked closer at the pistils they were almost pink at the tips and it faded down the hairs but i dont know if you have that problem too could just be that i got a pink kush snd its showing early because the leaves here are starting to fade on the plants idk where you are but if your trees in the area are turning fall colours then we could just be witnessing a new colour in the leaves most plants buds dont change but i seen close up of lemon kush and it has a bit of dark is purple tones with orange hairs really bright orange so maybe thats whats up is its just that branch is in a area with less light or sumn and its changing colours first aha because its just the one branch rn so i could potentially just rip it off if i find out it is a diesese

I grew some lemon kush about 14 years ago I got from a seed bank in Vancouver and they had a fair amount of purple in them.

It appears almost black then when you open them it looks more purple. In Ky. 95°here lately its not due to cool nights. Two strains do not tend to have color Green Crack and Super Lemon Haze . It seemed to migrate from one plant to another. In a confined area its illegal here.

Yeah forsure man thats exactly how mine are looking ill have to see if it spreads or not and get back to you but if not maybe i just dont smoke that bud or sumn?

You might have the Black Death disease
If this is the case and i do have this problem what are the reasons/solutions? I mean could i potentially fix how i was feeding her from before now and still have the rest of her turn out fine or should i just chop that purple growth off or sumn?

I found a lot just now looking on some more forums and stuff most people claim its a insect carried disease from india and was found first in 1967-1968 but none the lesd its carried over here from crickets and thats the thing i always hear crickets in my grow space so i know its them that did it but i also read on to find a book and on the cover look its the exact thing happening so we need a copy of that book aha but i also read on to find out that people just gave a good flower feed after they noticed it and it went away when the buds thickened next so maybe we can try doing that i dont know what your feed is but im using floragro trio series and i think i might just cut the gro and add 2ml micro 2ml bloom next feeding with ph ranges between 6.2 - 7.0 i have usually kept ph in that range but during thw beggening of my grow i never had a good spot so its in some pretty shitty soil right now and i think she might just have no nutes to defend against the cricket spreading that disease

I've seen the book. No info there. I have good soil, fed them last night hoping a little jolt may help speed things along. It looks like maybe they'll grow through it. I had buds on one branch that were looking kind of necrotic but,it looks to have white pistils reemerging ..? although they seem small.
I don't get a lot of direct sun light between 5.5-6hrs starting about 1pm in 35gal smart pots, but I do okay with that. I usually get 8-10 oz per. I'm usually trying to fend off botrytis .I've grown in this spot for along time and this is the first time I've had this occur.

It’s not a disease. I had the problem the last 2 years. Reusing the same soil just reamending it.
Here is what I have found from my experience. I grow organic. I never thought to ph my water the last 2 years, you hear it from a lot of people saying you don’t have to ph your water growing organic. My tap water has a ph of 9. So this year it’s been either rain water or when I do water with my tap I ph it to 6.5-7. So guess what I don’t have it this year. I’ve been seeing it all over Facebook. “ it’s an epidemic” spreading across the country. Like I said this is what I found from my experience.

How did it affect your end product? I don't have anything but rain water and it tests about 7 Everytime I've checked . I know a grower that has the condition and is growing in the ground . I'm hoping I end up with big potent purple nugs of tasty goodness . But I have no experience with this and I've been at this for awhile .

The end product was no different than if wasn’t purple. I was about 4 weeks in when I tried to change it last year. It was still there but not as bad. The growth was looking better by the end. 16484E59-EA4A-4BA2-A26C-8569A486383B.jpeg6FFABDE3-68A9-4ADE-9669-6B3B325E542E.jpeg8917F2CF-D105-4C10-AF85-CE75E807E89D.jpegThese were last years.

Nah, We ruled out pH, Temps, nutrient def's/toxicity back in 2016 when some of the first reports were posted in the forums. It's definitely a pathogen, likely phytoplasma or fungal. The symptoms of Black Death aka dark purple disorder are more than just purple new growth...the discolored leaves grow out blistered and mutated and look like theyve been chewed, usually the plant will die before you can harvest. If you are just having purple discoloration but the plant looks fine otherwise it is not Black Death. The problem has definitely been spreading since the first threads popped up and barely anyone outside of Hawaii had experienced it.

Yeah i was just reading back at the thread my lemon kush branch is the same still but im expecting the buds to fatten up in the next few days and the purple to continue with it strange that it seems like ever since my first post on this there really hasnt been much purple on the rest of any other plants and this one hasnt spread. I see someone saying ph problems its not that because i ph between 6.0 and 7.0 every watering and i always use a different ph and record everything that happens to the plant it could just be soil tbh the garden they are in is really shitty soil when i first got there it was all garbage through the soil and shit that i had to rake out but in the end im hopeing my other 3 dont get it near like week 6 or 7 of flower im already on week 5 and a few days in but if the change doesnt continue its still a plant and its most likely fighting it off if its a diesese for the other people with it maybe youe genetics dont have the capability of fighting this type of diesese but ill still keep up with pictures if anything changes and when i harvest im going to do a side by side comparison of that amd a branch without the purple growth i might even send it in to a lab to get it tested see what the problems are

I have that this year too, some strains do it some don’t. Didn’t realize it could be a disease I’ve seen it off and on over my years of growing. Interesting read.

Hey man i am definitly on the route of taking your suggestion i already figured it could have been due to the phosphorus levels next feed i will be uping the dose and cutting out the grow because i will be in the last weeks of flower ive been using a schedule that goes from using high amounta of grow during the begining of the plants life and then slowly cutting it to nothing while raising the bloom and micro nutes i use floragro trio series as this is my first time using nutes and i only had so much money and that was a cheap solution but i rinse any nutes out with a regular water before using nutes again or any major changes in the levels of nutrients i add next i usually dont if it has had a heavy rain a few days after the last nute period and before the next watering, if i can remember i started using nutes like a month from seed or sumn like that because i didnt want to chance having nute burn and i didnt have a ph meter to make sure things were on point and working properly i have been giving these girls about 2 litres or so ever watering do i need to use more now?
