This is how I color my plants purple. (hope it helps)

I take purple spray paint and dillute it with water like half and half. Then I mix it up and get the water a nice purple color. Then you put that in a spray bottle and foliar spray your plants 4 times a day for the last 2 weeks of flowering

I know i know. Your thinking "spray paint? that would really fuck my plants up" but thats where the water comes in. When you mix it with water all the harmful chemicals are removed so you don't even gotta worry about it

ok I was fuckin with you earlier dude so heres my real answer.

Food coloring is proven to be a bad idea because of the taste of it. That makes sense.
so you really shouldn't waste your time with that.

As for the grape koolaid I would try something like grape juice concentrate because its more natural.
So if you were planning on putting it straight into the dirt you are planning wrong. If you didn't end up with bugs or mold the roots wouldn't absorb the color just the water and nutrients from it.

You are better off, directly after harvesting stick the ends of the branches into the grape concentrate(maybe diluted a little bit) and let them absorb the stuff that way.

Idk if it will taste any better than food coloring but its proven that you can color buds it just tastes like shit. this is the same concept using a different coloring solution.

I'm pretty sure you're gonna invite stuff like bugs, and some sort of fungus by spaying sugar water over your plants. None the less your gonna have a sticky situation... literally :)

Stress your plant... Get the temperature to 3 degrees celsius that will turn it purple but dont let it get colder than that... In flowering stage
