Common WHITE WIDOW faults? SLOW FLOWERING

i really do not think from what you said there is anything wrong with your setup the minor light leak is irrelevant
there are so many white widow strains out there with varying amounts of sativa/indica across many different pheno's
not sure which breeder the ops ww comes from

but at close to 6 weeks with such a small amount of development its looking like a pretty poor phenotype / version of the strain
it may come good in a few weeks and start to develop but its going to be a 14 week+ plant .. i doubt this is what you want

even then it could turn out to be shit :( not much you can do but hope im afraid
if you wanted white widow, the original version is from mr nice seeds he calls it blackwidow.. whomever you get it from, you need a few females to be sure to be able to select a phenotype worth keeping or you run the risk of getting stuck with 1 plant that is not much use

peace :)

Well said, it sounds like you're doing everything right. Must be the genetics. Wasn't sure on the light leak, some people's idea of a "small leak" can vary, sounds like your's isn't a real problem. I recently cropped out a tangerine dream that went for 15 weeks and still ended up in the bubble bag. The description said it was an indica heavy pheno, but between four plants there were four phenos. Hopefully yours starts putting on some weight.

yeh all he can really do is hope, and perhaps get better genes next time
on the light leak thing
you have to keep in mind our eyes are much more sensitive in a dark grow room
and much more sensitive than what the plants can notice its easy to think a small light leak is bad because it looks quite bright to us
but to the plants its nothing

look how much light pollution comes from street lighting and of course moon light plants never grow in total darkness naturally

i have dealt with this issue in some depth , as my flower and veg are in the same room about 6ft apart
once your eyes adjust, even a small led from some device like a power extension cord
or just the screen from a mobile phone can light up half the grow space in contrast to the dark room just a few lumens will look like a big leak but its nothing to worry about .. you can turn on regular house lights during the dark period if you need to check them
the plants will not notice this tiny level of light of just a few hundred lumens many feet away
i do not expose my plants to any long periods of light interruption but 5 mins here and there is fine

peace m8 :)

I'm growing White Widow clones from GreenHouse Seeds, and after 7 days of 12/12 just a few pistils are visible. Most strains i've grown are much faster, but I've grown White Widow several times, and it's always a slow starter, but worth the wait. The leaves on my widow are much fatter than yours. Never seen WW with that much of a sativa phenotype before, maybe it's something else

Hows the air flow in and out of the room? They might be using up whats around them to quickly. Maybe get co2 of some kind to help out a touch. I use the enhancer by tnb naturals. Its pretty decent. You shake the shit out of it and hang it above the grow. I shake it about once a day. When i shake it i turn the fans off for about an hour. Lets them get a little extra of it first thing in the morning. I see a difference using it that way. But thats just me and personal experience. Some people dont see a difference for what ever reason too. But personally its helped me everytime. Not expensive or hard to encorporate into the grow area either. So. To each their own right.

I realized that before i put the answer in. Just i saw this thread when searching for something else to do with white widow. Figured if anyone else has the same issue in future, that bit of info may help. Threads may become inactive, but questions will always pop up, and having extra answers may help someone in that boat. This could be the weed i just smoked talking now but....i wonder how many people having ww questions, came across this page looking for info and never left a comment in general. Lol happy holidays bud

The light leak could really be affecting you...i think I'm the 3rd to mention this. I personally had it happen with a strain I regularly grow, and one batch was just not progressing. As soon as i fixed the problem, it was like starting over. Luckily I was only in week 2-3 so I didn't lose much, but I did lose those few weeks...which can really jam you up when you have plants in veg ready for that space. I know what you mean, you would think that because outdoor plants can handle the moon cycle, indoor plants can also...Most can't though, some strains less than others. The wattage is on the lite side too, also contributing. Have they fattened up any?

First pic topped second not topped
It just looks like the plant that got topped is a few weeks behind maturing. It might be a different phenotype, but I bet it’s just from the growth delay from topping it. I wouldn’t start calling the slower plant a bad plant, it very well might still impress you given the chance. I’ve had identical clones ive ran for years end up 3-4 weeks behind because of environmental issues. In the end they finished up beautiful like always just took longer.

Dude you just tried to help someone from 4 yrs ago .. they probably figured it out or at least hope so lol
If not, i'd kill to get a nug of something that took that long to mature!
WW is getting rather popular again, at least from what i'm seeing.

Were they freebies? I have one of their freebies going right now, and out of the 4 seeds I started, the WW is doing the best. Of course, I think I have a damn gnat problem, my preventative sticky got a couple, and my leaves are curling so.....damnit
