Compare smell

hey i was forced to harvest the tops of my plant early due to insect infectation, i was curious about the smell. I had it dried for six days and yesterday i put them into mason jars. I burped them for fifteen mins and i smelled them and was shocked they smell like dry leaves in the fall they dont smell dank at all as when i first put them into the dry box they still a little bit NO they are not brittle dry just a little bit crispy i would say dried to perfection but they start to smella little like hay is this why you put it into jars in order to brak down the chlorophyll and get rid of the hayish smell?? i would guess so but does everybodys kush smell like so on the first couple days of curing????

Don't know about "Kush" but many strains lose their smell upon initial drying. It usually returns as you cure. If not, the insides should still smell great.
What kind of infestation?

The worst kind i wish i had a pic to show before i pulled off an infected bud and after cuz u wold see how it was moving to the closest bud to it. It was from moths laying their eggs on the buds and then when the egg hatches it finds a apex form the main stem and a branch and digs into the hollow stem and starts to eat the insides it doesnt harm the plant as a whole as it does harm what ever it eats. the buds look like they are covered in mold but really its just the shit from the caterpillar all it eats is thc and shits it out The sections turn a brown mold That makes you sick just looking at it

curing should bring back the good smell, but i have learned that buds picked early tend to take longer than mature buds to regain smell.

Dam dude I just harvested my small plant for almost the same reason. This is week 6 of flowering it didn't have much more time to go maybe a week half or more of the hairs were brown. I was checking it out when i came home from work yesterday I saw a black gnat land on a bud and then dissapear I took the plant outtta my homebox and inspected it saw a bug crawling outta the bud so i said fuck it and harvested it at 6 am before the lights came on in my box. good luck on the cure wish me well also.I hate bugs !!!!!!!!!!!!

ha awww shit that cool at least you got it to flower and got some harvest. GOOD luck on drying that it takes a while you will see it starts to dry up with the firs couple days but the insides will still be a little dank still so six days was perfect for me. YEa wha he said aout younger buds taking a while longer to REgain back the smell after drying sounds damn right cuz i take a sample and it fantastic lol but still hayish smelling IT anit bad after a while lol

now the oler buds that are going to be cut down soon would Not take as long to cure than these buds or would it take longer cuz its more dank THC covered
