I'm starting a compost pile, and i was wondering if i should start it in a tub or something? Or can i do it on the ground?

Either way doesn't matter to me.

And does it being winter have anything to do with it?Cause the pile can't stay warm? cause i thought it needed to be warm, but my step dad says other wise.

Thanks guys.

Container or pile. Compost happens. A healthy compost pile will generage its own heat. That's part of the process.

Good luck and good growing.
