idk if those will be powerful enough to pull air through a scrubber
i guess it would depend on the scrubber

Man i dont think those fans will cut it ...most people use 4 6 or 8 inch inline fans for cool tubes

I use two 8" super quiet fans...I wouldn't use less than 110cfm for your 400hps and you can use a 110cfm for a carbon scrubber, but you are going to need to make it a bit larger for less back pressure.

So the consensus is that I need more power.. I am on a budget and stealth is a priority.. Any specific recommendations? I will keep researching.

Thanks for the help!

I think the heat from the 400W HPS might damage those fans. Having used those fans in cases before, I can tell you they are crap and can fail without warning, especially when exposed to intense heat. Never again on those fans. good luck, let us know how it turns out. and through a scrubber, no man you need stronger fans. turn on one of those fans and put a piece of paper over it, it will burn out the motor in no time, and could lead to a fire. Bad news if you wanna keep things covert.

You can use quiet muffin/computer fans, but you'll probably want to setup an exhaust for the hood and an exhaust for the carbon scrubber. The hood exhaust will go through and through, from outside to outside. The scrubber goes from inside to out, though if you are growing weed with real stank potential, you are either going to want another scrubber or a bigger fan.

You can get the Coolermaster 200mm online just about anywhere. They are 8" 110cfm fans and are almost imperceptible when on. You will need to buy a piece of 8" to 6" ductwork to connect from fan to the 6" duct to your hood.

Good luck

I don't have a hood. Ballast kit.

what if i ditch the cooltube idea and just have 3 x Coolermaster 200mm going. one intake and two exhaust out of the top with carbon scrubbers.. basically just mesh wire cylinders wrapped with carbon filter.

*shrug*

Trying to be to cheap will just kill you in the end..believe me i know...
Sad but true. I've found that being cheap in the beginning just means you end up spending twice as much. You'll have the cheap stuff sitting around gathering dust, and the good stuff you should've bought in the first place in use.
