Concerned about drying process

Hi all!

Cropped an outdoor on Friday, trimmed er up and been hanging in my garage with a fan on it since. The buds are dry and feel crispy with a bit of stickness but the stems aren't fully dry yet. I can still feel some dampness in the stems. The tiny skinny stems just barley snap off. Should I wait it out? Or is it good to go?

Put a humidity meter in each jar and fill with bud. Keep burping the jars until you are maintaining about 65% for 12 hours with the lid closed in the jars.

you can get hygrometer on amazon for like 20$ or 30$... it's worth knowing where your buds are at. put them in a jar for 12 hours, and then take them out for 4. put them back in for 12 and take them out for 4. put em back in for 12 and take em out for 2.... repeat until they are where you want them. usually takes about 3-5 days to get them at a good RH (60-65%) sometimes longer depending on the humidity of the room you are drying in.

Sounds like your close. I like to get started before stems snap. Everyone has their different ways though.

Thanks for the advice guys I've been cutting and trimming the buds the last two days. Busted a little nug up last night and it was still a bit damp inside, is that normal?

I like to start curing when stems break but not snap in half like hella dried out stems........I like a lil more moisture when I cure you just gotta be more vigilant more burping and keep up with the moisture the first few days ...........but IMO it works best and I don't mind being patient for my bud to be perfect especially since it took me so much hard work and patience to grow in the first place ..........just watch your moisture and you'll be fine that's the key .........good luck and enjoy

Thank you! You're very helpful around here. If I keep burping it it will fully dry out tho right? I'd just like it to bust up a little easier. Seems real sticky/damp

Yeah just keep burping and watching your moisture and it will come to a point where you won't have to burp anymore I dry until my stem brakes and stays at a 90degree angle but doesn't brake in half Just watch moisture and burp accordingly the stickiness is a good thing and yes you will be able to brake it up after cure.......if it's a nice sticky bud after curing just buy yourself a decent grinder it will help break it up for you Good luck and enjoy

Once you've dried and jarred the buds, check them at least 3 - 4 times per day.
1. if they're wet and clumped together, dump them out onto a table top for 1 - 2 hours or into a paper bag for 4 - 8 hours, depending on how wet. Put them back in the jars and continue to closely monitor how moist and sticky they are. If needed, dump them out for a couple hours again.
2. When the buds are dry enough you can hear them rattle around in the jars and they separate easily when the jars are tumbled, you're on the right track. Just open the jars to give the curing buds new oxygen at least twice per day.
3. If you have Boveda 63% packs, insert one into each jar and continue burping jars twice daily for 2 weeks.
