Confused on hydro

Ok. I have a small hydro set up. Just wanted to test it out but im about as dumb as they come.

Does the plant grow under the water or above it?


I jsut lpanted probably about a 4-5 in plant in some soil at the bottom of my fish tank. (no fishies just water)

but I look at everyones pics and their plant is above the water and just the roots are in water.

am i doing this completly wrong?

Im a dirt bag. This hydro stuff confuses me

you should start with soil your first run....in hydro the plants have to be in a growing medium(hydroton, rockwool, etc) you have have a wick syster, flood and drain...there are many different options..

you should rock soil until you have a better understanding of how the mj plant grows...also read the growfaq, and peoples grow journals..lots of good info out there man!

I know what you mean. been doing alot of reading these last few weeks on wat makes my mj plant happy.

I got 1 in dirt right now still vegging been growing for a month.

C'mon, is the original post a joke? If so, good one! A plant in soil, under water in a fish tank? Does anyone think marijuana is an aquatic plant? If not a joke I hope you can see the humor. Read DWC Grotorial thread in the DWC forum for the simplest approach and pictures.

OR you could just stack your chips and get a bubbleponics system,thats what i call hydro on auto-pilot

i dont think its a joke at all,he said he was dumb as rocks and this is his first attempt

That's alright man, I'm as dumb as a rock too. But with some reading and persistence you should be able to grow a pretty decent plant or two.
