Even if this healthcare bill was the greatest thing in the world. (It isn't)
Now is not the time to raise taxes with unemployment at 10.2% and climbing at .2% per month.
BTW comparing health insurance to Car insurance is Asinine.
If I don't want to pay car insurace I can not drive.
This is a tax/Corprate givaway for living.

BTW 15% of Americans living in states that mandate Car insurance don't have it.
Government Mandates don't work.

The current bill imposes fines (they call it a "tax") for not getting insurance.
If I get insurance I don't have to pay the tax.
Failure to pay your fine can send you to jail.
This is not freedom.

Also what about the Amish who don't believe in any insurance and pay in cash.
We gonna state fining them?
Jailing them?
and If not why do they get special privledges?

It doesn't matter what the question is.
Freedom is the answer.

the judges piece on beck is awesome. i loved hearing who is really on the side of freedom, clarence thomas, beck, the police, THE CONSTITUTION, and a whole bunch of other conservatives. but hey, conservatives suck right? its the politicians who are the enemy of the people.

Can I just ask why I should have to pay for you?
Don't get me wrong, I would gladly assist the people I know with anything they want because I know them and it is my choice, but why should I help you, when for all I know you could be lazy, stupid, irresponsible, and any other negative adjective you could assign someone or simply a person who I hate (Please don't think I am calling you any of these things, because I am not, just simply making a point). Why should I help you, when for all I know you could be everything I despise?

Again, please do not think I am insulting you, I just wanted to see how me helping someone I don't know is justifiable?
It's called compassion. If I have to explain it....................

The same could be said about grandma's social security check she got for 29 years....Or....for war...why should I pay for you to kill someone you don't like...I mean sure maybe I wouldn't mind paying to kill some people I have a beef with...

Socialism/Patriotism...depends on who is spending the money.

:leaf::peace::leaf:
Social Security sucks. Why can't people just be responsible with their money and save for the future instead of forcing the young to pay for the old?

I don't think you can really compare war to this. While I do agree, the concept is similar - forcing the young to fight on the behalf of the mistakes of the old, the people who do participate (military), have volunteered and understand that joining the military means fighting. Declaring war is also constitutionally giving to our government, while people might not like the war that is declared, it is still constitutional to do so. Telling people who live in So. Cal that they have to pay for someone's health insurance from Maine; however, is not supported anywhere by precedent/constitution.

On an individual basis, voluntarally helping someone else out IS compassion.

Helping someone else out against one's will, under duress through government force is not compassion ... it is serfdom.

maybe, but all the interviews i have sene him in he remains impartial
Probably that judgement is also Biased.
which is why i dont have a problem with most liberal judges, so long as they dont interject their own personal views and agenda. the law is the law
The law is the law and it can be tilted. Take the 3 strikes law, Imposed on basically, crack dealers. Regular coke dealers, (Powder) usually don't get fucked with that law, unless they are real stupid. That law was imposed by right wing judges that were against dope. The right wing has been leading the way on anti-dope crimes. A crack dealer with an ounce of crack, will get way more time than a coke dealer with an ounce of coke, basically the same chemical substance.

It is not about the volunteers fighting the war, but about PAYING for the war.
And although congress is funding the "war"...they have not declared war, therefore it is not constitutional.

Opps...sorry congressman jeff f
no, my question is a serious one. congress voted to go to war, we went to war. whats the point? constitution says basically that congress declares war, they voted. i think the declaration of war thing is basically so you dont get some rube in office, like obama, who wants to declare war on, oh, i dont know, lets say ISREAL, who is solely responsible for pulling the trigger. thats my understanding anyway.

The Amish aren't even required to have photo i.d. not that it matters anymore.

The thing everyone is missing is that it doesn't matter which side of the fence you are on the GOVT IS CORRUPT!!! Everything that you grew up knowing and grew old knowing is a LIE. Wars are just being fought to put us in more debt so the banks get richer who control our country anyways. The real reason Social Security is around is not to pay for the old or help anyone it is to pay off our debt which is never ending! The President and Congress do not control our lives the BANKS DO!! Do some research and learn what our country is really all about. Wake up the real problem is our corrupt system and how they are wanting to kill us all and line us up and throw us in Fema camps! No one is going to save you in the end you need to save yourself!

the problem with health care is A. its illegal and B. it fundamentally changes the relationship between the government and you---you now have to buy something that they say or else you can be fined and imprisoned---car insurance isn't the same thing because you can choose to not drive a car--and there is no difference between either parties they are kinda like this

<anarchy-------libertarians-----------------------------------------repubs/dems---fascists/communists/socialists-------totalitarianism>

Medman you need to break out of your left right thinking.

I agree the three strikes laws are definitly broken.
They were supossed to be for violent offenders only.
They have expanded it to far to many "crimes."

Compassion is not a valid reason to impose force and violence on the people.
If you wish to impose compassion at the point of a gun,
to pay for your ethical values with other peoples money,
where does it end?
It never ends,
as your compassion will always demand this or that for the so called "greater good."

Freedom is IMO the highest political ideal.
Freedom through-out human history is a fleeting and delicate thing.
Most often taken away by the people for what seems like the best reasons.
To defend from a foreign enemy or for social justice.
Both of which are hard at work in this country even now.
In the end the wealth and liberty of a once free people ends
and anachy and desperation replace them.

Its not that I think you collectivists are bad people.
I think your hearts are in the right place.
But for the life of me I can not fathom where your brains are.
(However, I have something of a one track mind as well.)

I think i have finally found the CRISIS in healthcare Obama has been talking about. It is not in our hospitals, or clinics. The crisis is in our budget for healthcare that we do pay for. Before I say it I would like to let everyone know that i entirely support our veterans and beleive they should get the best we can provide. Lets look at the feds budget, 55% goes to defense, and of that 66% goes to v.a. benifits. I think this healthcare bill is a rouge to have an excuse to dismantle the VA. Then they can use the public system and save the feds a bunch of money. Just a theory.

I saw way different figures during the election, I will try to find them. I think if we follow the money, we will find the root. I know there is a huge deception going on, I am trying to put my finger on it. This is a chess game, there motives are not obvious.
