So how you liking the Cool Cab? Do you have enough room in there?

You know its not too bad. I think I let them stretch a little too much. I got all excited when they started getting taller...lol.Biggest is touching the light now but with the cool tube around it its not a major bother. Actually the biggest problem Im having today is that my entire mesh pot is falling thru the res. lid. The colas are way huge and making the plant really heavy for the cheesy plastic lid. So how goes it for you and your ladies? And how in the world did you control your humidity? Did you use your cool cab to dry as well? Im still debating.:joint:

If you check out my last post in grow journals, you can see mine stretched as well. Even after I topped them. They are squeezed in there with not much more room to grow taller. I had to remove the shelf to allow these to bud. The humidity has been fine for me, I have my cool cab in my garage. No heated and cool in summer. This will be it out here though. It will be getting really cold soon.
I did dry them in the cabinet. Totally dry in 4 days. I strung some string through the holes under the shelf and hung the buds from that. It worked really good. I wanted to dry my outdoor in there but already had plants going.
I had that same problem with the lid. That is why I got myself a rubbermaid tub and lid. That shit is strong. It has bent in, but not as much as the other lid. I did have to put little kabob stick through the plug to hold them above the lid. Try it. It may help you out. :peace:

The stick thru the mesh pot is a great idea thanks Chiceh!!!! How many days in are you on average at time of harvest? Im on 88 days now and Im pretty sure they got a couple more weeks till they have thier final fattening up. Not sure what this strain calls for. Its Purple trainwreck crossed with Romulan. I know it has an 8 week flowering cycle but Im at 8 1/2 weeks right now. Im stumped. But then again I bought feminized seeds and so far more than 80% were MALES!!!!! Bought em from a dispensary in San Fransisco. Other than knowing they are a good strain they werent worth the extra money.

Did you grow them from seed? If so longer to harvest time. My first went long. Do you have a microscope to check the trichomes with? They are cheap at Radio Shack (the Circuit in Canada).:peace:

Im still having a problem with some leaves turning necrotic so there are some pics of the leaves. Though some are a bit blurry.

Root rot? What's goin going on in the res? Are the lines clogged? There should be no reason for root rot in there with all the pumps and shit going. How often do you add fresh water to the res?

Well, Ive had problems since the beginning with root rot. Theres really no good way to drain the res without disturbing the roots. With the size of the plants, it is now impossible to drain.I have had alot of problems with my lines clogging. Plus there are 14 holes in the top of the res that came in the cab. With only 3 plants in it there was alot of light leakage which, Im sure had alot to do with the rot. I covered the top with black bags and plus the airstone they gave me sucked so eventually I got a new one. Once the rot took ahold I didnt know how to get rid of it. Lots of people said to try hydrogen peroxide but I wasnt sure so I didnt try it. Now its just a matter of waiting patiently for them to finish. When they are done and harvested I got alot of modifications to do to my system.

Exactly, I modified mine after the first grow. I switched nutes to clear stuff (DNF) and I got a rubbermaid bin (stronger lid) and cut only 5 holes in it. Put all the lines around good. I also slit the side edge saround one handle for easy access in the tub, just lift the handle up and in you go. For the pumps I glued in a divider ( a plastic jug with holes cut in the sides and bottom cut off) I place the pumps and stone in there so the roots stay away. As for draining and filling. I have an electric drill attachment with a sifen hose on it. You hook in on your drill and stick one hose in the res, the other in a bucket, turn it on and it sucks out a the water. Great tool, no lifting or disturbing the plants. With the corner flap it is even easier. Good luck, maybe try even stiring your res once a day for circulation. :peace:

How tall are your plants in there, these leaves could be juat doind that from lack of light. I stripped my plants a 1/4 of the way up cause they were doing the same thing. You could try mixing some vinegar in with some water to rinse out the roots. Shouldn't harm them, but will clean them off. :peace:

I cant believe you didnt use h2o2.

h2o2 is god for hydro, it will:

Prevent Root rot
kill bacterias
sterilize the res
increase oxygen levels
increase root uptake capacities
increase growth/yield
probably make you refill your res more often

Ive been using h2o2 on a small hydro grow, and its amazing the bushes a 4' x 40 watt fluoro setup can make!

I urge you to add one ml/ per gal/per day of h2o2 into your res and be amazed to see those roots whiten up like a smoker after a whitening trip to the dentist.

YES PER DAY, h2o2 dissipates quickly, try not to leave the bottle open either, dont get any on your skin or clothes, it will act like bleach for your clothes, and make your skin turn white and burn for while, depending on degree of exposure. Dont get any of the concentrate on the roots themselves, and dont apply to foliage, doing any of this will result in the localized death of the spot where it made contact.

Just get a little dropper and drain it into the water, it will circulate.

I also recommend another air stone/pump as with the h2o2 your uptakes increase and your plants will show you how much they love the extra air.

Since your res is overgrown with roots, I would suggest diluting the h2o2 into a couple liters of water, as you pour the solution in, the roots may react still to the h2o2. but this is for the better as it would hardly lose a beat, and you can now see the bottom of your res!
