cool tube help

I'm thinking about getting a cooltube for my 400w hps/mh. Its in a 2x4x5 grow tent. I have 2 6" 240cfm fans. Thinking of setting it up like this- carbon filter>fan>ducting>cooltube>fan>ducting going out of tent and passive intake. Do you think this will keep the temps cool?

In my humble opinion, yeah, but having two fans on it may be overkill.

Are you able at all to have 2 lots of ducting?

1)
Carbon filter > fan > ducting > exhaust

2)
Ducting (from a cool source) > fan > cool tube > ducting > exhaust

I wish I had two six inch fans. I wish I had ONE six inch fan. Currently contemplating getting a cool tube myself, as I can get them for maybe £25, I know there's very mixed opinions on them. Now wondering whether to shell out another £15 and go for the Black Orchid Protostar, which is a larger reflector with better spread and apparently has minimal lumen loss. Currently I've a 9" desk fan blowing on the bulb, a 4" exhaust fan and an 8" (kinda) intake fan. Temps are good right now, but it's only gonna get warmer in the next few months, and I wanna get that light closer to the canopy.

All this for $170 free shipping on all. Run it filter>fan>ducting>ac hood>ducting out of tent. Then use one of my fans for intake

I push air through the cool tubes.

I have cheap cooltubes so am not sure if they are 100% sealed.

If you pull air through the cooltube and it has a very small hole that you cant see with your eyes
(manfacture small mistake or whatever)

Expect all your house to smell!

I run filter > fan> cool tubes

Thanks for the reply. That's what I'm planning on doing. I'd like to get a better fan, but the one I have now i believe will work. I'm gonna order my stuff Friday. Gonna get a lil bigger tent 2x4x6 air cooled hood and ducting, then later a 6" inline fan and filter. When I have enough room ill use tent I have now for veg tent and bigger for flower tent. I might start a grow journal once I get things setup the way I want. This is my first real grow, been wanting to grow for a long time. I've done a TON of research and had plants started before but never really past seedling.

The 400w will work in 4 long by 3 depth great

My veg tent is 5x3 and its 1 foot exactly needs light and there where is my fans and huimidifer standing.




If you notice the light coverge will end by the seeds on the lift

Try to get alittle bit bigger tent for the equipments if you can.

Becouse the 400w will light all your tent properly good and you wanna use every inch under this diminsions for your plants.

But then you have no space for equipments.

I was thinking about a 3x3 possibly. Think the 400w with ac hood would be ok in that? I have about $150 to work with this month. Like to get a new tent and hood if possible this month and get rest of stuff next month.

The way I have the lamp it covers 4x3 perfect if you rotate the lamp position in the tent it will cover 3x3

Start with the air and light fixture then add the rest later hou have at least 3/4 weeks with no smell till they mature

I found a 3x3x6.5 tent on eBay. I could get that ac hood ducting and clamps for $170 I could use that with one of the fans I have now to make the ac hood work and later get filter and maybe better fan. Setup for now ac hood>fan>ducting out of tent, or fan>ducting>hood>ducting. I'll try looking for a 4x3 in my price range.

If you have strong fan now you can blow hot air through it

But any way I never pull I always push air bcz if there is a small crack or ay small hole that I dont see then my whole house will smell to weed!

3x3 is even better if you can handle heat

But as I sayed the cooltube shape will give you 4x3 to work with

I found the hood on amazon for a lil more. Like 60ish I think. I try to look around for the best deals. I got my 400w hps/mh ballast wing reflector and both bulbs for 96 and change.
