Cool Tube Question

Well i just bought a 6"Dia cool tube and was wondering if anybody has ever used a 1000w metal halide in one, Ive got my fans connected but it just seems unsafe looking, the bulb is right next to the glass, i don't know, I'm kinda worried about using it. I tried using my 1000w just under a Econo wing, but my room got up to 120 degrees, which is why i bought the cool tube, I have a 10x8x8 room, with 14 beautiful white widows under 400w right now and im about to transplant and i want to do the best i can to get the job done right.

Thanks in advance.:leaf:

Solarmax 1000w MH is long tubular bulb that would fit and still leave sufficient space in between bulb and glass of the tube for air circulation. I would go with at least two of these setups for your grow. Why is the temp. so high??? Are you growing indoor?
If you are, you need better air circulation. You need at least two fans, one to bring fresh cold air in the room, and one to take hot air out of the room. An oscilating fan on the plants will be nice too. Try too pull intake fan off the ac duct. You should get the temp. right befor you upgrade the light...120deg. will kill'em.

Yea, i have 2 inline fans, one pulling in fresh air and one sucking out, the bulb fits in the cool tube, it just looks like its too close to the glass, just worried about it getting to hot, and shattering the glass. Also i have a osculating fan too, Heres the bulb i have http://www.eyehortilux.com/metalhalide.html , it gets fucking hot as hell.

oh really???

you wont have problems with the glass i use one and have been blessed ever since. The only thing you have to worry about is the bulb prematurely burning out. Not ridiculously quickly but sooner. The bulbs are rated for an extreme amount of heat. Bulbs in cool tubes run a little hotter. But you can put them to within 18".
