Not to sound like I am taking the side of the cops but there is never any reason to attempt to vent to cops and express your personal beliefs about the illegality of growing/smoking cannabis. Nothing you will ever be able to say will sway them in any way, either in that particular instance or in future instances. Cops do not write laws. Cops only enforce laws and as long as the law states cannabis is illegal cops will bust people. You can never gain anything at all by expressing your personal beliefs, but you can make things worse by doing so. It is always best to say nothing more than you absolutely have too, and that does not include expounding personal beliefs and or questioning if certain laws are fully or even just partially justifiable in this day and age.

whats your point?
Whats yours? (Rhetorical question, it is obvious you are looking for a fight)

I will try to explain it, more slowly this time. daddy6976 said, "I let everyone of them know OUR views on the plant and the purposes of it" and I was curious what he thinks my view was since he was speaking for me (and you).

How can you seriously take offense to that?

sorry but any state law that infringes upon my constitutional rights is an illegal law. there is no such thing as "reasonable cause" to search your house they need a warrant or your invitation. at least in america.....

"Reasonable Cause" or probable cause is what lets cops get way with more than we are comfortable with. Probable cause merely requires that the facts available to the officer at the time warrants a "man of reasonable caution" to conclude that an illegal act is being committed.

The Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution has two clauses. The first states that people have a right to be protected from unreasonable searches and seizures, and the second states that no warrant shall issue except upon probable cause. Probable cause is the level of evidence held by a rational and objective observer necessary to justify logically accusing a specific suspect of a particular crime based upon reliable objective facts.

Basically, if a cop can cook up a good enough story to later convince a judge that they had true probable cause a person has little protection from what should be illegal actions taken by the law. It gives them the 'right' to do pretty much anything if they can prove probable cause or concoct a believable story as to why they believed there was probable cause.

They heard a scream .. even if it turned out to be on TV, or a neighbor's TV, but it made them believe someone needed help so they want in .. and saw your bag or your plants .. or they smelled herb ... so they went in ... you opened the door and they saw a bong on a table (that happened to a friend of mine once) so they came in and found other items ... etc.

It sucks ... but they can do it and they do, do it and they will keep doing it.

So the reason they came is because he was fucked up on pills and was accused of stealing or trying to steal an ac reef. We live in apartments, so in texas, if you live in apartments and your deny search of your house as long as the prop manager is there (and she was..) they can search anyways. As for the statement about OUR views and purpose...i said purpose of the PLANT...not cultivating it. The whole point of the story is, once again, someone has fallen victim to retarded laws. it hurts the economy by being ILLEGAL...not from you cultivating it. I didn't want anyone to flame me over it or anything. I was just updating and letting you guys that knew it was growing that it was seized. As for me standing up for what I believe in and not saying anything to protect yourself from more damage...I watched my ass on what I said, it's just they were so condescending and acting like it was a HUGE ordeal that I decided I wanted to make it a point to let them know that I don't see anything wrong with it and there is no reason to be acting how they were....all I can say is by the end of the ordeal the arresting officer told me (in a secluded room in county) that a lot of people on their staff share the same views as I do including himself. Thats all I wanted to hear.

Im sorry about lack of details and mistakes in that last post. To clear it up...they thought he had stolen copper here and they wanted to search the place so my mom gave them consent, knowing they were getting in anyways, and the found the weed then the plant. They made a bigger spectacle about the three trash bags of bongs and pipes then the plant it seems. I still have to see a detective and give a video statement...I thought it was open and shut. I had a plant and a little bag of weed, less than an ounce. What do I say in this statement? uhhhh...yeah I was growing the plant they found and it was my weed on the tray. the end. lol

It's like this, 40 years ago the cops would lock me up for pot until I got to see a judge. Today they write me a ticket(and hope I show up for court) and tell me to go hang around the Sally Ann for 25 or so hours, no record. Don't grow pot in a state or country that will execute you for it. Move. In Canada odour is not considered just cause.

you guys are all arguing as if the police follow the laws....ROFL....police can do and say whatever they want as long as they can phrase it properly and find something after the fact.

Here's just one story out of hundreds. One day while tending one of the ops I started getting this strange premenition that someone was planning to drill a hole in from the exterior wall in an attempt to see inside. I went to the nearest landfill to find some metal to skirt inside the interior of the exterior walls. I found a bunch of 6" metal stud cutt offs so I loaded them on the truck. I went back to the op and screw this stuff to the walls. On my next visit, when I went to the op I noticed pieces of drywall on the floor next to the wall. They got past the steel, so I went outside to look. There was a hole about 1/4" drilled staight through. The RCMP use these types of camera probes if they suspect but can't get any evidence. Luckily the lights were out and they never got past the black and white plastic. In Canada the RCMP can enter into any outbuilding without a warrant, they only need to suspect. They need a warrant to enter a place of residence, even if it's a mobile home or a tent.
