Correct Lighting

hey im pretty new to this site and i need sum help with the lighting in my grow box.

i have a Philips tornado Florecent warmwhite light bulb and i was wondering if that would be good enuf to start growing my plants

You can use that till flowering time then i would use a hps or mh lights just search on ebay thay have some of the best prices for grow lights with a ballast...

actually bud the light you have is really only helpfull during flowering... you can use it yes... but what you wanna do is go to like walmart and get a 2 pack of "daylight cfl" they burn at what 6500k off hand.... you can get a 2 pack at my local walmart 26 watts for under 7$ ....

btw it's funny how walmarts differ in price...

Hey i found a cool daylight lightbulb that glows a sort of blueish light would that be better for the vegetation period and the warm light for the flowering period??

You warm:leaf: white is good for flowering, but for now you nee 26 watt daylight 6500k

home depot is the best place for fluorescent bulbs. i just got 20-4' 6500K bulbs for veg for only $20. and the 3000K for flowering are $7 for 2.

i honestly recommend using 400 watt HPS lights as you'll yield more bud
fair enough fluorescent lights are cheaper to run
but you lose up to a 1/3 even more production in the long run , but it only matters if your growing more then a few plants
plus using HPS lights the buds are far more dense and oozing with THC resin
in my grow i use fluorescent lights for my clones and seedlings
and also for when in flowering , i drop a couple fluorescent lights between my plants to add more light for under the canopy as the HPS lights are used for on top of the canopy
well thats my opinion
the price of my power bill is roughly $80 a month
but its well worth it as my last 3 harvest's profited $65K

whats wrong with cfl????? people have been growin with cfls for years and they do have decent yield just look at where the hell am I grow.....

2 guys above me...... NICE FUCKIN GROW WITH CFLS

eh bro I'm just sayin that cfl grows can be decent. I have never grown a full grow with cfls, but my current grow was vegged under them and personally I think cfls are better to veg with than mh. I have grown 3 different grows with nothing but mh/hps and this grow was fuckin awsome under cfl. I have never seen the same results under mh. I could be wrong it coulb be the strain, but my bitches where tight and compact all through veg with cfls:leaf:
