Add some perlite and don't worry about feeding for at least a month. But that stuff should work. It's mostly wood so keep that in mind. I'd mix that with some perlite and worm castings and compost. Not a bad price for what it is.

i will cut it in half for indoors with great lakes water only soil. outdoors i will just mix it in with the soil from last season, i just cant beat that price though for that size bag.
