could smell seep through a carpet floor? if ur upstairs could it smell through...

if :-( wer growing a few plants in an apt and lived upstairs, anyone think the :leaf: could get through the carpet floor and be smelled down stairs? ie: a closet that is pretty sealed could it get through the floor? :-( smoked and started thinking this was a possibility.

The smell from plants? Not through the carpet you shouldnt smell it. I live in a two story and bring two plants in at night upstairs and I never smell them. Plus I've installed carpet for years.

i doubt it.. but it depends on you set up too, I mean if you are venting out a window with a carbon scrubber and put panda film on you walls and some water proofing on the floor you don't have to worry about smell too much

yes, the odor will stink up the whole house if you don't have them in a room with carbon filter exhaust. Even tiny plants in veg only a few weeks old will do this.

I doubt it will seep downstairs.. its not just carpet separating 2 apartments.. You should be good..Stoner. haha

So you are worried about smell going through a carpet, a carpet pad, a sub-floor, 4-6" of insulation and a piece of sheetrock? Do I have this correct?

it will seep out everywhere, not just thru the carpeting. Unless you have negative pressure in the room with all air exiting the grow area thru a carbon filter it will smell up the whole house. Most people that grow in their homes become acclimated to the odor and thus don't realize it's present. Anybody that doesn't live there will walk in and smell it immediately.

Right....thats after walking in the room. But the people downstairs cant smell it. But is he talking about growing or smoking??? Either one just tellum its your new cologne called cannabis 420!! lol :)

yes, the people downstairs can smell it also. The odor penetrates the whole house after a little while unless the bedroom is hermetically sealed.

Yes...... im sure you can smell it a bit if it's upstairs in a two story house when there's still the stairwell between the two floors,but two totally diff. apts. with separate ways to gain entry? That would be like your neighbor taking a crap upstairs and you smelling it in the downstairs apt!!! I live in a condo complex with neighbors on both sides of me, and maybe, just maybe you'll smell them cooking and usually its something that they're frying where the smoke travels. But the smell though the walls? Must be paper thin walls.

Separate entries right? Totally individual apt. just one or more on top of each other correct? Dude, 3 plants you'll be ok. Not like your growing 15-20 plants in a closet. If guys are getting away with PC grows in there dorm @ school then what do you think. Either their getting away, or they got "BIG BALLS"!! lol It's your call man.
