Could someone explain how and when to use reflectors.

I have a timber 4 vero29 setup and it came with reflectors. I have them off right know in veg and have my lights about 16 inch away from the top of the plants. I was wondering how everyone else uses their reflectors. Do you put them on or off for veg and flowering.

I'd have them on the whole time. Means more of your light gets directed at the plants rather than at the walls.

More light= more bud.

Would you raise your lights..

Not unless you can feel the heat from the cobs at canopy height. If it's too warm to hold the back of your hand there for long. Its too much for your plants.

Are you in a tent or open?
If you have walls to reflect light you will get better penetration running cobs closer without reflectors, you lose 10% of your light in the reflector.
Personally I grow autos perpetually and veg photos in that space as well, and have 2 vero 29s per bar, so if I have a small girl beside or in same bin as a big girl I'll throw a reflector on the cob over the small girl. That way coverage stays uniform.
That's just what works for me, others may vary.

I don't run reflectors. I have four clu48 at 50% power with a distance of 12.5" from the tip top. Temps are currently 77f at 50% RH. No area of the plant is starving for light either. 2x4 tent. No light stress either. Mix of 3000 and 3500k.

The only reason I'd use reflectors is so the lights wouldn't blind me from the glare coming off the sides. I wear sunglasses when inspecting them anyway.

I have a 2x3 tent and want to buy 5 clu048 1212, what K and Cri should I use and if you will say to mix, then how do I mix them ?

I sure use my reflectors ...but not at the expense of my venting/extraction

...so easy for one to block the other
