its in the datasheet: "overload: hiccup mode, recovers after faulty condition is removed" You can do that if you like this ;-)

This new powersupply HLG-185H-C are new constant current high voltage power supplies that do away with the need for drivers and are 94% efficient. The HLG-185H-C700 is 700ma constant current and have variable voltage depending on the voltage drop and go up to 285v. That means I can hook up 7 2530's in series without any drivers at 94% efficiency and the power supply is only 75 bucks.

Got a link to a shop that sells it?

You will only be able to run3-4 LEDs in series with the 1400mA HLG-185-C1400 at $100 a pop Plus shipping. If you think it is going to be less expensive then the parts I listed you are wrong.

$100 for a 600 watt power supply, and $5-8 per ldd-1000 running 10-12 leds would be about $250 for the power parts. Same price you would be looking at with the other power supply, but with much greater redundancy.

It's not that simple. If you are wanting to set up a string of cxa3050 you could run 3 off the power supply you are referring too. Or you could run the cxa2530s with the 700mA version, run them below the 800mA rating and run 6-7 of them. But if you wanted to build something that had 10-12 cxa2530 runninn at 1000mA each it would make way more sense to do what I listed. There also happens to be a 93 CRI version of the cxa2530. Using the components I listed would give about 20k lums at nearly perfect grow spectrum light for $350-400.

Just look look how sexy that light purple 93cri spectral curve is!!!

I would conceded that if you wanted to do a light for a single plant as per this thread with 3 cxa3050 or 6 cxa2530 that the HLG-185 is the way to go. But if you want to go bigger then scaling up with the ldd-1000h bucks would be far more efficient using the cxa2530s and progressively larger initial 48vdc power supplies. You could run about 18 cxa 2530s off a 1000watt power supply and ldd bucks. They are also going to be coming out with and ldd-1500 buck I am not sure it will be higher enough voltage.

Quick Update. I need to learn how to take clearer pics.

Here she is at 31 days of 12/12. Her buds are getting frosty and she has a nice fruity smell.

I value the importance of redundancy but to me efficiency is more important otherwise why not just use hps your 600 watt 48v powesupply is only 88% and with drivers drops it to 83.6% which 10% less then the 185-c . pushing the LEDs past their rated ma further reduces efficiency of the LEDs while me going below their rating actually increases it. Lastly it might not seem like a lot but it adds up and these lights could last 10 years and so it pays to make them as efficient as possible

So I brought out my 30x loupe last night and I'm already seeing some amber trichs. This lady is finishing fast.

Now if someone can just teach me to take those sweet up close bud shots ;-)

What kind of phone do you have? Just wipe your lense off with your shirt (that's most peoples problems) then get up close and let it auto focus. Put the loupe over the lense and focus the loupe. Then kaboom, trich pics, and without it, clear micro bud shots.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

Here's a shot at 33 days. I'll be giving this bitch the MOAB+hammerhead combo on Thursday and will continue that for 2 more weeks. Hope she can handle it

Bring on the swelling!
