crossing marijuanna with another plant species.????

so what is a person was able to give the htc property of marijuanna to a completly different looking, legal plant...is this even possible? i would think it would take years and years of breeding but idk..what do you guys think about this? wouldnt that be the shit if another plant that grew wild had a htc content and it wasnt poisionus?. they make apple pear peach trees dont they? :-o.so what is htc for anyhow? a defense mechanism? a reproductive element? i wish someone would create another plant with htc like properties.

google search coulda told you, but no, this is the idea that every single person has had that just doesn't work that way
cannabis can be grafted to hops and catnip, but there's really no reason to do it, it's not gonna get you high
if by htc you mean thc, I'm pretty sure it's because the psychoactive properties fend off would-be HERBivores, with other reasons as well

It's thc - tetrahydrocannabinol

It's not possible to breed cannabis with other species, just as it's not possible for a dog and a cat to breed.

always wondered about this, cannabis + bamboo would be the shit! that stuff grows in packs and can grow 3 feet in a day

Think of it this way The Apple PEar Peach you were reffering to are all fruits very closely related just look at the structure of all three of those plants. Marijuana can be breed with different plants that are close enough to the same family like crossing a sativa and an indica but that is about as far as is currently streches. What your suggesting is like crossing a red wood with a dandylion. Other than the world of Frankenstien there is no logical reason why anyone would make a sientific effort to try and do this.... Now to understand how complex THC is scientist Have had success (to an extent) creating THC but it lacks the medicinal benefits of THC. The Current Conclusion Is the natural plant is the best and unrivalled for of THC. In other words Dont Fuck with it lol Its perfect the way it is. ps The THC Is Why its ILLEGAL for anything but medicanal use.

not possible to breed outside of species through normal course of nature... maybe through advance technology you can artificially do it?!?!

Today we are really ramping up on genetic technology. We have genetically modified salmon with coding stolen from eels. We have tomatoes with genes from god knows what in em sitting on the shelf at Walmart. Did anyone see 28 days later? He walks into a supermarket and all the fruit is spoiled except for some irradiated apples.

Come on guys, Today we would have people clones for sale if it wasnt for government bans on that research. Dont you guys remember all that hoopla in the nineties when I think greenland was racing a private company to decode the human genome, to keep that private company from patenting our DNA?

It is entirely possible to splice DNA and create a THC filled TOMATO, Barley, sugarcane (now wouldnt that be sweet?). I would personally prefer to see extensive breeding programs to make gains in flavor and taste cause I see the cloning and genetic splicing as afronts to nature, in that they open the door to communicable diseases etc..

genetic variation is key to our survival, grow from seed...um what was I blogging up?

this topic gets recycled from time to time, it's an interesting idea
but THC is a controlled substance, if it's in a plant(naturally or not), it's illegal
unless you are a pharmaceutical company and you call it marinol
so for stealth it would be a breakthrough for a while, then when it becomes more common knowledge, the molecule police have another plant to do search and destroy missions on

lol yeah a thc ( i know exactly what it is i just type to fast) tomatoe would be awesome.i hope that becomes a reality. my garden would be NOTHING BUT TOMATOES. and they would go on a search and destroy mission. its not like they have bigger problem to worry about...all the tme

there seems to be no limit of federal stupidity with this molecule/plant
they have better things to do now, but MJ must be destroyed!
this is a conceivable project if you're some bioengineering genius
but i think we will have legal MJ by that point, or a much reduced federal priority

What i have read is that most kinds of bamboo will take several years to root themselves, then you can never get rid of them and they blow up all over the place
well then you should experience it first hand. I planted 3 shoots once, next year there were 30+ popping up, now its everywhere and i love it, great privacy but comes up through the driveway once ina while.
