cup size

In hydro its not bigger cups for bigger plants. The size of your res determines that. Your pot size just needs to be big enough to support the trunk as it grows. I personally use 5.5" net cups in my Res. But as long as your pot can hold your plant up at all stages, its big enough.

It makes perfect sense to me that the longer you are going to veg, the larger the pot you'll want to help support a taller plant. The previous poster was correct.... I'm not going to use a 3" net pot to support a 4' plant. I'd prefer the larger pot which holds more hydroton which will better anchor my bigger plant.

common sense Peaceluv...

Ok. I think I misinterpreted it. Yes, bigger pots for bigger plants is common sense. I was more referring to how in soil grows, if you limit the size of your pot, you are limiting the size your plant can grow. And of course its not like that in hydro, because of the res. As long as the pot can hold a monster up, it will do fine. I could not have grown the 2 monster plants I am about to harvest in the 5.5" pots they are in now, if it was a soil grow. They would need 5 gal pots.

Peace. :bigjoint:
