Curing Overdried Buds

Yea that was the discussion! People talking about humidity and drying times, buds crumbling to dust after a week etc etc. I believe you were explaining the effects of heat vs humidity on drying times.

You seem to back up all of your arguments with enough logic and science for me to take note and realise you’re not just regurgitating sentences you’ve read without the understanding behind it.
Its hard to contribute with all that other bs info that gets laid down everyday in the name of broscience....

Strange they dont wanna learn from us just fuck the site up qith stupidity and led ego.

I do not have any bud that is too dry, I just wanted to know what happens during the curing process. I have heard people claim that once the flowers dry too much the curing process is stopped and cannot be restarted. I am hoping somebody can explain if this is true or not and the reasoning behind it.
Plenty of curing threads that explain the breaking down in Harvesting and curing section of the forum.
And yes id say 30%RH is to dry. "dried in 4 days to about 30% humidity (measured in jars with a humidity sensor)" Not sure what u did to get it that dry that fast.

I fully understa.d the validity of humidity but what does air moisture have to do with the final moisture percentage in dried bud?

Is bud aligned to air moisture levels?... ya somehow i doubt that seriously.

Im still not managing to equate this theory to real world.

If i jar bud that is ten percent water by weight i mainly just want a reasonably dry atmosphere so it equalizes and stays there b:-)

I am assuming that given enough time the buds will come to equilibrium with the humidity of the surrounding air, but that may not be true. I'm not sure how you could measure the humidity of buds directly, except maybe by weighing them and then weighing again after getting all water out of them. Hopefully someone here can explain how humidity is measured in plant material and can tell if my assumption is wrong. It seems at the end of your comment that you do think the buds equalize with the environment, so I am a little confused that you said you doubt the buds align to air moisture levels. Maybe I misunderstood you.

Assume that bud dry water weight is 10% and nothing to do with humidity.

If humidity is 70% the bud still dries to a final wet weight of 10%.

I assume too much broscience confused these guys but im here to talk these issues out not troll :-)

If a bud aligns with air moisture the buds water percentage would be the same as tbe air and at over 15% (total guess) you start getting mold.

Rh humidity today is above 70% my bud still dries not assumes that 70% which would be like a fresh just picked buds water weight.

Humidity can slow or speed the dry by a little it certainly sdosent sap your bud till dry and some need to google the percentage water of dried bud and apply this to the dry not broscience or air humidity.

Ive never posted in curing section, mods may have moved one or two threads there with me in maybe.

I hang dry for two weeks then jar none of this modern bs sorry - im far too good a grower for that rubbish.

Hello Kingrow, I registered today to ask you one question. I feel your expertise on growing. I dried my cannabis by mistake for 13 days. (since it was not a mistake since youre telling two weeks is your schedule). When I put them in jars, after 10hour the hygro showed %50 so the cure was dead? ThenI immediately put some lettuce over them with a paper to prevent direct contact. The hygro rises to %90s. I did not take the lettuce back for some time to let them vacuum the moisture like sponge.

When I take back the lettuce. The hygro drops to %65 and stayed in that way for days. No molds.

Im asking if the cure is dead ? and if my cure is revived since my hygro still shows %63 without lettuce. Im burping them once in day or two for 3 5 min. Still protecting the %60-65 humidity.

Please I need your advice.

Thank you for answer.
