Curled leaves, unhealthy plant

hey everyone, ive just made a post about my own plant problems (https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/308870-dried-leaf-tips-early-signs.html#post3867020) but whilst im here i thought id ask about a friends as well..

4weeks into bud and the leaves have started to curl under and curl around most bud development.. see pics.

ive repotted it becuase the pot was one white mass of roots, the roots where growing out of the bottom and sitting in the resovour which smelt like sulphur.
the drainage has now been fixed and cleaned.

its growing in canna coco soil, ph6 feed and the plant is Blueberry.

ive advised 2 days ph6 water flush, 5 days Canna Reizertonic (stress relief), another 2 days ph6 water flush, then back to terra florres, pk13/14, booster, flush and finish.
but i might be wrong cos ive never had issues like this..??

i cant tell you what temperatures its running because he doesnt have thermometer but it didnt feel too hot nor too cold.

could these issues be on the road to recovery from what ive advised or can anyone tell me something better/ could it be heat related??

i only took pics of the bad parts, the plant is about 1meter cubed and has cola's lookin how it should after 4 weeks of 12hr light. but the majority is as pictured...

Thanks
Giz

a friend just told me that when u repot a plant thats in Bud it will kill it because a budding plant cant handle the stress..
does anybody know if this is true?

I know for a fact this is not true. Last year for my outdoor grow i had 5-6 plants in 3 gallon planters. The roots had totally filled the planter so i transplanted 2 planters into 5 gallon buckets. In 3 weeks, the roots had filled the extra space.

Just be careful of the roots when you do this is all. Moisen the soil first, then water after you transplant. No nutes for a few days.

ok, thank you. i was worried id killed his plant.. well, he had nearly killed it already from not checking drainage and using a 5litre pot for such a big plant lol. but hopefully itll turn round and produce good bud, its now in a 40litre bucket.

These plants have "the curl" -- a classic condition that results when MJ plants are run thru the stretch phase on nutes that are too low in nitrogen, and often very high in P and K.

When MJ is in stretch, it's adding way more leaf and stem material than bud. That means it still needs a lot of N, when often the grower is adding high P and K foods (wrongly, of course). All plants live in an equilibrium of water and salts (nutes, cal, mag, etc), and that balance is maintained both within the soil and in the plant with the roots as the mediator of the two. When P and K build up in the soil due to the wrong nute regime, water has to be forcibly pulled from the leaf cells to keep the balance across the root surface. That's what causes the leaves to curl. It's called plasmolysis.

The next phase will be widespread brown, black, copper or grey-colored crisping and curling, starting in the fan leaves and progressing inward to the bud leaf. You're going to get some of this no matter what -- these problems take time to work thru the plant and it's already trenched in for now.

Repotting should prove to be helpful. I would not flush or impart any additives - most of that stuff is hokum anyway. The best I've seen anyone do with this problem is arrest it; truly normal growth in the leaves generally won't resume at this later stage. From here, I would keep your NPK levels in balance, like a 7-7-7 or 20-20-20 formula. That will provide enough N to facilitate any potential recovery, while still providing more than enough P and K for flowering.

I've had this exact problem before. Bummer is, you'll never get them to look happy and vigorous again. Good news is, they'll still finish and produce good bud, so hang with them.

In the future, maintain your NPK ratios at a 3-1-2 multiple thru the stretch phase. When height growth levels off 3-5 weeks into flower, then switch to something balanced or in a 1-3-2 multiple.

Hey man, not sure if this is tha case or not. But the ONLY other time I've seen leaves curl like this is when I cloned an actual BUD, and when that bud started to veg again some really weird leaves started popping out! Leaves that look EXACTLY like the curling leaves in your pix. So has the light schedual changed at all recently? Maybe tha plant has reverted back to veg?.. Again, not sure if this is the case, just a thought. It looks kinda like the plant's vegging again tho. That's the only other time I've seen leaves that curl like that!
Good Luck!

it can also be a type of blight thats found on cucumbers mostly but can infect cannabis to a degree try a foliar of mollasses and evaporate sulfur to alliviate if thats the case not sure how to tell just a thought anyways could also be slight prolonged overfeeding if so youll see burnt leaf tips in a couple of days ive had this condition before and i seens to be compounded by low temperatures never had it in the summer time

thanks for the input guys, you could be rite.. as i said its my friends grow and he is running it like a ghetto grow..
i tried to help him since day one and its only now he has the problems that he is actually listening to me..
he has 2 grows next to each other with a screen in between.. i have seen light leaks around the screen and advised him bout that.. i presumed he had sorted it but maybe not..
also over feeding has been an issue but again finally convinced him to slow down his feeds..

yes your right about the curl on pre budded plants.. the 2 bigger one i have, have been messed around for light before i got them and ive just noticed new development comming through curled.. but only the 2 that have been messed for light out of 6..

i suppose my friends grow problems could be several reasons.. each of which should be sorted now, if he has acted on what ive told him so far..

The 2 pics are of My plants that have been messed around for light..
i didnt want to turn them untill i turn my others which could be 2-3 week away, does anybody know if they will get worse or effect bud?
