Cut the "crap" away and leave the rest? (ghetto scrog attempt)

Hello everyone :D

I am attempting a so called ghetto scrog as I call it (well take a good look). About 16x out of 21x tops are growing through the screen, and the rest tops aren't getting good enough of lightning. I noticed the lower tops aren't forming pistils as quick and efficiently, so I am wondering if I should cut them and concentrate the lightning on the more promising areas? Or is this too early to determine? Im also sceptical since they are in flowering. Note that all the branches have been supercropped.




Information:

2x Master Kush (nirvana)
Veg time: 90 days
Flowering for 16 days (currently)
Lightning: 300W LED panel, 23W LED grow light, 110W CFL and 4x 23W CFL's
Nutes: Same as for tomato plants but with less nitrogen (Well it works I guess)
Tapwater (48h in room temperature)
Topped both plants 5 times, supercropped and topped

Yes but growing weed is illegal so no one wants to click an outside site since it could be anyone c9v trolling the other site. Looks good though from what I can see

I will put my question in one simple sentence: Should I cut all of the lower branches that doesnt get light nor seem to have started flowering yet after 16 days of flowering?

The few branches I am talking about are really low on both plants. I think I will wait a week, if the pistils don't show till then, I will cut them. Ofcourse I could save and make hash out of them aswell, but as I've understood it's wiser to concentrate the light on the more promising areas.

I do exactly what anzo said.. If I don't think they will reach the screen or they are just not what I'm looking for as far as location goes I just cut them and clone them. I would be throwing them out otherwise and I can get a great idea of how the plant flowers and plan accordingly for these clones. If you get them before they show pistils they won't have a hard time getting back to 18/6 or 24 depending on your veg cycle. They may throw one or two single blade nodes but don't fret you have plenty of veg time. Top early so you can fill the next screen and leave the little guys at the bottom in veg for max light absorption, then repeat the whole cycle once you flip again. Your in a sense lolly popping.., put the energy to the dominate bud site that are getting the light, clone the little guys... It's a win win

I've read a little about cloning and it sounds interesting, I will try it with my next grow in a couple of months.

Im not sure how to take that :lol: But sure I will post pictures in a few weeks.

Dude try it now if your just trying... No sense in throwing shit away it's really simple..

Clean sharp scissors or knife (ISO, or flame before use)
Cut at a 45 (lightly scrape bottom 5mm or so of stem)
Submerge in water until your ready to dip in rooting hormone
Prepare moist loose dirt (preferably a neutral soil, nutrients will fry clones)
Use a pencil or something to make small stem sized holes in dirt
Dip in hormone and straight to holes
Keep out of direct sunlight and keep medium moist or sprits leaves till roots form


Boom! Clonezzzz

I might try it out, I'll post as soon as I've done it.

By the way would you honestly consider this setup as a scrog? Do you think it could work? I mean the point is to have a nice even canopy and place all the branches in a way that each branch gets a maximum amount of lightning, right? :D

Well yeah, you have been tucking so that's pretty much it as far as scrog goes I'm sure your next grow will be much more even knowing from the get-go what you are trying to achieve. Consider yourself a scrog grower my dude
