OK so I would like to provide more information if thats required. when you have volts and current, that solves for power, but do you just want watts or do you reall want photon data at watts, because watts tells you nothing except what it costs to run
Cheers
Mark
$ per watt my friend..and why did you leave out an incredibly important parameter?

there is nothing earth shakingly different about the photon data..thoughi applaud your work

lets start where its most imprtant..how many watts are the boards

watts tell me how big your boards actually are when i run them at half power

but if those panels are 18 w and not 50 w then i could only run them at 9 watts and would need a truck load..

and why could you not just tell me the answer..?

i am not going back to a web site that is evasively undesigned to not tell me the most important parameter..
as well as your non answer

gimmie the other creds after i see that your strips are way overpriced per watt

again how many watts are those strips?

Communication is lacking. It took me over a week to get 100 count order of strips. I know people get busy at times. But I used the site chat, Dmed on here, emailed, and hit you up on IG. It took a week to get in contact. But I will say you gave me a very good price. So I cant complain to much. Now to get the strips so I can start building.

What strips did you go with?

@welight im still asking for the details on the 5050 PC reds. Your gear would get much more traction if you provided more details. My order is finally in the country now.

Nice! Maybe a bit overpowered but i know thats the way you like it.
I got the 5050 solstrips coming in on monday if all goes well
Not really that's less than 40w sqft it's actually 38.4w sqft and its veg n flower. And the other light is 1280w flower only.

Edit: but the nice thing is, they are being run so soft. The guy can add two more drivers later down the road to pump out 2880w. If he goes with a bigger area later on.

If youre running the strips at around 20w youre close to nominal current. Those 40w per square foot is going to go a long way running soft.
With FoTops/lm561c running at nominal weve weve had really good results at 30w/sq foot and below. The crees should give you similar results. Id defo make a light in modules or similar, that could be spread over more space if need be.

I looked at the 5050 strips. But building a 60 strip light and a 40 strip light the price point for the 5050s is ridiculous. 100 strips at their price point isnt worth it.
Im using these in some spectrum tests, PC reds, white and wide blue channel + uv. The added cost is what i would have payed for extra red, blue and uv.
I will probably end up mixing in some extra white on these.

The 5050 BR strip is upto a 400W board. I don't know of any heatsinks that are available to take the heat out of a board that size, I have heard of people using water cooling to get the heat out. I wouldn't push it past 100w unless you had a really good heatsink.
I was thinking of getting a square extrusion and and pushing air thru it.

If the board is exposed it will help alot with the heat dissipation, I think Steves LED's have a good heatsink for this board, that heatsink with some air blowing around it will definitely do the job

That's what I did with my Samsung f562b strips. Max on them is 1600mA. I pushed 2500mA for months. Nvr a problem. I used 2x2 extruded alum tubing. Thick walled. Mounted 45mmx45mm pc fans in one end. And hooked them to a temp sensor on a sonoff. Mounted the temp sensor right in the middle of the 2 foot long extrusion tube. Set the temp at 90° to kick on the fans. And they run about 15 mins every 90 mins or so. The leds stayed so cool even being pushed at 2.5A that you could lay your face on the strip itself. And I cut 3 sides of the tubing. To slot it. Every inch. To let heat escape when the fans werent on. Essentially made my own heatsink. By cutting it like i did. But i just mounted the strip on the uncut side of the tube. Worked like a charm.

Gonna push them at 666mA at 48vdc about 31.9w per strip. I have enough strips to put 19 per driver to drop them to 526mA at 48v for 25.24w per strip. But I think 15 is plenty on a hlg-480h-48a its 10.0A with strips is right at 666mA so they should be pretty efficient. Typical on them is 500mA @48v for 24w is typ. According to cutter. So I may run 19 per driver. To get it close to typ. At 526mA

Running 30 strips per fixture. 2 driver per fixture. On usa heatsinks. Two strips per sink. Mounted like the spydrx center alum extrusion with drivers mounted inside and then 15 heat sinks mounted cross ways. May add in some 660nm inbetween the strips or 672nm or both. Havent decided yet.

Like this but only 2 drivers per fixture. Not 4.

I order a bunch of the of the copper 25 lm301b diode square pcbs from ledtech.eu they are 3.08 @5000mA max. And I ordered a bunch of the 98 diode 50cm lm301b diode strips as well. They are 20.21v @2800mA max for 53ish watts. But im gonna run em way low. 325mA 6ish watts. A bunch of them. They should be right at 200lm/w 2.82 µMol/joule
