Cutting down flowering hours to reduce stretch?

You should take in consideration that flowering timmings may have different effects on your plant. Idk if it's a fact, I read it on a rm3 post i think. Less then 12h of light will bring out more of the sativa profile in a hybrid.
I think it was DJ Short who wrote this.

O yeah it was DJ Short, good guy there I have been told. 11/13 does cool things to cannabis strains, I run that schedule when I have new strains to try. Brings the coolest shit out in them.

Lol, all my shit is grown under 11/13, and my buds can break a window. The closest the daylight time gets to 12/12 on earth, is at the equator. And THAT is 12:07. If you want to be scientific, look into where your strains originated, their average light timings, etc... you can get real specific in your attempts to mimic their natural environment. You will also see it's likely less than 12 hours daylight during flowering there.
Science is great, if it ain't "bro - science".

Could one assume the adverse is true as well?

I don't think that light cycle will have much to do with your stretch issue, as I have run 12/12 and 11/13 (I use that now. Placement of fixture, strain of plant and pot size has more of an effect in my opinion. If your running Sativa dominant, then the plant will grow taller of course, and your kind of fucked if you want short plants. Next time get female seeds so you don't have to go through the sexing BS, as it will save you a lot of time. Good luck

I'm not sure I completely understand what exactly your goals are with this.
I've never really considered any correlation between light cycle and stretch or growth.
Stretch and growth could be easily manipulated with light distances and pot sizes tho.
There is a direct correlation. Hence the stretching.

I disagree 100%
But everyone is smarter then the next guy.
Cheers
I respect you, but you are totally wrong. The hormone for that stretch is released at night, same as the flowering hormone (although also in the presence of inadequate light.) Try not giving a plant enough light. It will stretch toward it. Anyone here will tell you if you turn out the light, the plant will stretch toward the last point the light was. Look up auxins (they are a group of growth hormones.) I know what I'm talking about.

You will yield less by cutting DLI.
You will less what?
Have you done it? Do you realize the smoke is better? Flower times are shortened, making up for any lost yields.
You guys can reject science all you want, I like having better bud than what people can find.
