CXB2530 micro grow light

Took the plunge this weekend after a good solid month of research, comparing parts and trying to crunch everything down to my price range and i finally ordered my stuff. Didnt even take a week, mouser and american heatsink sure have one satisfied customer. I have a grow box thats 16 in x 16 in and 26 in high so i opted to get a few more of the smaller cobs rather than go the 3070 and 3590 route.

3000k and 4000k were the only 2530's on mouser that didnt have a minimum order requirement of 100 and i wanted a bit of a mixed spectrum to help keep my stretching down in the small space.

Parts list:
3x CXB2530 U2 bin 3000k
3x CXB2530 U4 bin 4000k
6x molex cob holders
1x meanwell hlg 120h C500B
1x 7.886x12 heatsink

Im going to be running the cobs at 500ma and around 50% efficiency, altogether on paper the system will run about 102 watts and put out around 17000 lm. I did calculate ppfd but im not sure i did it right

17427 lm divided by 159 lm/w is 109.6 watts radiant power
The QER for cree 3000k 80cri is 4.66
109.6x4.66 is 510 umols/s
Divided by .16 meters sq is 3192

Thats pretty damn high, 3x the max you wanna aim for. Did i do my calculations right? I can build my room bigger if need be cause this is saying my ppfd is 3x what it needs to be.

Also i had one question, i searched the forums and found posts where it was mentioned the dimmable b series drivers can be used without dimming. I can buy a pot and wire it up no problem but i never planned on dimming my system. I bought the b driver because the a driver at the same amperage and voltage was 30 bucks more on mouser. How would i go about using the driver without a potentiometer if i wanted to?

leave the dimmer leads open (unconnected) for maximum brightness

and yeah thats about twice the light you need for that space

Thanks BOBBY_G was looking at the meanwell datasheet and going over the circuit diagram cause i though i could just leave them open but also thought it might be leaving the circuit open, im relearning a lot of stuff about circuitry and i have post concussive syndrome so im having an interesting time here lol.

So i did do my calculations right, hmm shit well i guess i gotta go make my room bigger then. No complaints there, just means i can grow more

the dimmer leads are a dedicated sensing circuit, does not hurt the driver to leave them open in fact it should give you up to 10% over nameplate current

Almost have the light fully rigged up, just need to mount the fans on it. This thing is seriously bright, i knew it was going to be but man, its very hard to look at when its on.

Got the growbox torn apart, should be a little over twice the size when im done with it. Got some strawberry sour diesel and white castle seeds on the way, also have some early vixen and white voodoo clones waiting under cfls
