Introduction : You can do it

Agriculture is the first thing man ever learned to do for itself. In fact without it we would still be in a cave. We have come along way since then, gardens grew into farms as we formed tribes; Farms into plantations as we formed cities. Seems the more people we have the more we grow to feed them and meet other needs. Now we have a “botanical society” finding ways to grow more and better quality food, fibers, fuels ect. So far the best finding is hydroponics, botanist looking back into history found rumors of “floating gardens” and the Roman “Hanging Gardens.” These are examples of NFT, A type of Hydroponics we wont talk much about.

Hydroponics - growing plants in liquid : the cultivation of plants in a nutrient liquid with or without gravel or another supporting medium
Nutrient - nourishing substance: a substance that provides nourishment, e.g. the minerals that a plant takes from the soil or the constituents in food that keep a human body healthy and help it to grow

In this Guide/overview, I show you the ropes of a VERY inexpensive hydroponics technique that anyone can do. Provided you follow instructions well, Its not rocket science you don’t have to know any complex math. The most we’ll get into is ppm ((parts per million) pretty much the only number that matters) of water. So Don’t be afraid of numbers and big words, they all have a simple meaning.

Out of hundreds of hydroponics innovations few are worth trying. The one that seems to have the Ease and Success is Deep Water Culture(Dwc, Waste system.) I’ve seen non-green thumbs turn crops with this type of system. That may be the reason for the rise of popularity & prices. You could buy one but are you going to pay $200 for what you can get at Wal-Mart for $30??

SAFTY

Something should always be in mind when using power tools, sharp objects, Water around Electricity. So don’t kill your self. No idiots beyond this point

Deep Water Culture
“There are over 100
different types of systems that can be made by hand at home. Out of
these 100, 15 have proven to be useful for cannabis. One of the more
famous simplest systems is DWC, Deep Water Culture, a.k.a "The
Bubbler". This system is very cheap to put together and yet still
provides excellent growth rates. There is nothing like it for the price.” - grow bible

Before I get into what it takes lets talk about where to get your supplies. Recycle if possible, every day you most likely throw something away you could reuse. Don’t use hydro sites or credit cards! Paper trail. Go to Wal-Mart if possible search Google for retailers that sells General hydroponics(GH).

A reused Coffee jug is great, I always use food grade containers.

You’ll need:
Supplies:
Reservoir (Food grade plastics only)
AIR Pump $10
Air hose $1
Air stones $.50
Medium $3 (you’ll end up using a dollars worth)
Net pots $15 for about 12 2inch; bet to get extra

Tools:
Hole saw 2”
Razor or knife
Black and white paint
A Dobie
1” thick Styrofoam

Clone Assembly(as pictured)

You’ll need to get the most cups in the small area without causing leaks, crowding is okay for cloning.

Drill out the 2 inch holes in container lid where the most bubbles are popping to insure the stem is kept wet. Now remove the fragments left form the cut with you razor. Clean your reservoir with H2O2 or a small amount of bleach and warm water, food odors should be rid of! Use the drill or something thin and tapered to poke a hole for the air hose, make it smaller than tube to ensure air tight connections. Feed line through to the bottom and add air stone. Place lid in place and empty cups and fill with water and a tsp of Root One to the bottom of the pots. plug in the pump and connect air hose.

Take some small cuttings shave one side about 3mm cut leaves as shown. Poke the stem in the water to cover the shaved area. You should place the clones under an 11watt bulb.7 to 10 days before you use any HID.

Whaddup lizard. Looking good and great info as usual. Many Props..
Ive never had any bugs or larvae bro. U may want to start thinking about applying 2-3 ML of Hydrogen peroxide during res changes.. And wash ur Rock with the res solution a few days.

I never veged, I just keep it 12/12. Clones thicken the screen and make a canopy of a sq foot or more. i think some strains Veg no matter what the light cycle. The light green girls took forever to show flowering

How many inches is that 150 from the tops? I think i ran mine about 6 inches but i had a small fan blowing on the bulb to keep the heat from the tops of the plant's.
I had the same ones man those things get quite hot.Should think about remoting it with the reflector. I took mine apart looks real simple actually. Then i got a 400 and scrapped the project lol.. But seriously remoting that ballast out of the cab or away from the plants is going to keep temps proper.

Id say bout 6-8 .Soon as the warranty goes the ballast goes. they also said i could get another bulb for free but I dont want to shut her down and wait on shipping. Do you only use GE bulbs?
