Not even lab grade filters can filter out aflatoxin.
https://skunkpharmresearch.com/salvaging-moldy-material-2/
"To repeat, filtration doesn’t remove aflatoxins, so we don’t recommend this process for mold strains that produce them."
I didn't say filter, I said wash. What about this?

"The occurrence of the aflatoxins B1, B2, G1 and G2 in common medicinal herbs and plant extracts was examined. The aflatoxins are toxic metabolites of the fungal strains Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus. The method involves the implementation of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) together with fluorescence detection. Aflatoxins B1 and G1 are determined as their bromine derivatives, produced in an on-line, postcolumn electrochemical cell (KOBRA cell). The aflatoxins are extracted using a mixture of methanol and water and isolated and concentrated by means of immunoaffinity column chromatography. The aflatoxins are separated and detected by HPLC using an RP-18 column and a scanning fluorescence detector. The method permits the detection of aflatoxins with a detection limit of 0.05 ppb and recoveries in a range 70–100% for a variety of medicinal herbs. The method was tested on capsicum, potatoes, stinging nettles, birch leaves, senna leaves, etc." source

Granted it says methanol plus water, rather than just water, but why even put the water?

You just quoted an article on how they detect and quantify aflatoxins in a lab setting....it isnt a "how to" on removing aflatoxin from material that is to be ingested.

Lets say you manage to dissolve aflatoxins (along with all your THC) with methanol....now you have a homogenous solution of cannabinoids and aflatoxins, what do you do next? Evaporate it on a pyrex dish? Doesnt work that way.

First of all....any aflatoxin tainted material will no doubt smell and taste like garbage to begin with....not worth the time or resources to turn that garbage into concentrated garbage.

Filter, Wash...it doesnt fuckin matter....the only place mycotoxin infected material belongs is in the trash or compost pile. Do whatever you want to your own medicine...anyone that tries passing tainted material off to others is an asshat. End of Story.

Indeed^^^^^

I find it strange and unsettling that someone would even want or know that much on how to deal with tainted meds ......you fix tainted meds with a black barrel filled with other trash .....called a garbage can ..pretty sad BC knows that much about making tainted meds passable to others .....shame on him ....even though all his advice is a straight copy paste from internet ...

Trash is trash and tainted meds are trash .....

Apparently aflatoxin can be degraded fairly easily, so maybe it may not be that big a problem to get rid of it. Unfortunately, THC may also degrade under the same conditions. I think it's fairly stable in alkaline solution though.

"Aflatoxin is soluble in chloroform, methanol, acetone, and benzene, while it is slightly soluble in petroleum ether, hexane, and in water. Also, it is easily degradable by light and thus it needs to be protected from light as much as possible. As for pH, it is easily degradable in alkaline conditions, as well as in strongly acidic conditions, therefore it needs to be analyzed in the stable range of pH 4-6." source

please focus your energy on something more worthwhile. There is absolutely no need to waste time researching how to salvage black mold infected cannabis...especially not in the medical marijuana section of this forum.
