Daily (or more...or less) measurable water supply

Hair dye application bottles from any beauty supply store. They have a very small hole and a pointed nozzle so they drip very slowly.

I can fill my bottle with water, stick it into the soil and it will gradually drip water directly into the soil near the roots. I would estimate they dribble a drop of water every 10-20 seconds but it does vary depending on the angle, obstruction of the nozzle, and other factors.

It has been working very well so far on several sprouts and I hope to use it in the long run.

These bottles hold 6 ounces and are about $2.00 each.

A downside is if you fill the bottle with the full 6 oz. of water for a seedling or a sprout you could potentially flood the pot. Most of the bottles I have used drip very slowly and the evaporation from heat, air and use by the plant keep a nice balance going.

Just an update. I used this method the other day when I was out for 20 hours. I filled my bottle with 2 oz of water, then set em up and they kept my plants watered and happy the entire time I was gone. I also put an oz of nutrient mix in there and they get fed. I, so far, swear by color applicators for young plants. Not sure how it will do when they grow up but for now, they are awesome.

you could also just water the soil once a day. There is no point if you have to refill it every day anyway.

I do water daily. It's more for when I am gone for long periods of time, hence why I said 20 hours. If I water it all at once it dries faster, if it drips slowly, it stays moist longer. This way I can be gone for a day or more and keep things healthy.

smart thinking but i would worrie about the chamicals in the bottle from the hair die but i'm sure you washed and bleached them out

its a good idea, but 20 hours isnt long for a plant. some people water every few days when the soil dries out, others, like me, water once a day. it doesnt need to be overcomplicated by watering all day like that. now if you put it in a drip feeding coco bucket with a run off res, then thats a different story.

Yea, like I said its not for everyday. The last thing I'd want is flooded pots from watering all day. Didn't I say that already? I swear its like you aren't even reading anything I am writing.

ok. seriously though, this could work good for a hempy bucket or something of that matter. If you dont know what it is, its a 5 gallon bucket filled with perlite, and a 1" hole a little above the bottom so there is a small res at the bottom. it world work great for that aswell

Jorge Cervantes does something similar in vol.2 of his latest movie-but
outdoors-he gets a big square water jug and punches a tiny hole in
the bottom corner, so it irrigates one drop at a time.so if you want
to do a guerilla show it`s a good tip

I like it! Use multiple bottles on a 'tipping point/fulcrum) and you have days of watering. (could work wonders on geurilla growing)

(now to keep the nutes 'happy' for long periods of time)

I understand that you are trying to pass on this new discovery you have found but its pointless. 6oz of water? What the heck is that going to accomplish? People give me a hard time because I only water my plants with 12-14 oz at a time....well that was until they saw my journal and pics.

Most of us water once every 4 or so days and being gone for 20 hours is nothing.

1.21 gig a watts!!

roots grow every where and follow the water as it dries down the soil. thats why dwc is good becuse it is always getting feed at the botom. instead of water bottoles put a small 2 gallon bucket with a drain hooked to the bottom, place it on a shelf above your plants some where and have drip emiters and then you put the amount need in the bucket with food and let it go. free gravity feed.
