Dairy Doo

Well its been a while since i've visited you all on RIU. Go away for six months or so and miss alot of shit. Gladstoned is growing some Elephant stomper or some shit I have never heard of. Way to keep on the cutting edge Glad.

A few months ago I put away the pumps and res's to give soil growing a try. I wanted to share with you that I have had phenomenal success with a soil called Dairy Doo 301 mix. In veg I found it necessary to use a little extra N, but it is perfect for flower. I have bigger more resinous colas using this than I ever had in hydro. Growing the exact same strains from the same mother also.

I realize that this could mean I was a shitty hydro grower, but my plants were always healthy, well cared for and potent.

Anyways, check out this company, they are in Michigan and will even do custom mixes.

P.S. I have no interest or anything to gain nor am I trying to promote anyones shit, just wanted to let you all know about a Michigan product that I am having success with. I will post pics of the buds tommorrow.

Anyone else use this?

I haven't used it but will check into it. Soil simply grows better pot. I have had probably a trainload of pot on the years I've smoked and I can tell a hydro bud at least 90% of the time by simply feeling it but especially toking it. Just like I can tell a hydroponic tomato from a soil grown and you probably can too. Wonder if the Doo is a regional thing? Hell everything is a regional thing when you live in AK.

Yeah it's a regional thing. If you ask Brad (mr morgan)even has a MMJ mix. Unfortunately he listened to the wrong grower and labeled it 'marijuana mix'.

The 101 is a very nice lite mix for starting plants in.

I have some 101 from homeless. Can't wait to use it, my babies are not like the ocean forest by itself. I have some Goji OG and Sunshine Daydream going into a 101 mix in about 2 hours. Good thread and thanks for hooking me up homeless.

yucky-

inconsistent, bug filled.

stuff.
What doesn't have bugs besides pro-mix or any other soil-less mix? Wait I think Fox Farms is actually a soil-less mix too and it has bugs.. There is no way to offer an organic soil without giving away some bugs or killing all the beneficials in the process of sterilizing it..

Does someone actually sterilize their soil and then re-add beneficials to it? None that I've heard of, but I've heard bug reports in just about all of the soil brands.

If the worse I ever get is gnats I'll be happy tho. :)

Yeah the company is called Morgan Composting its in a little town called Sears. I live pretty close to there, I will go in and ask him about the MMJ mix. Have you used it? Thanks for the info.

Yes Dairy Doo is great and its a fair price as well. I never ran into any bugs that came from it not like my experiences with happy frog and ocean forest. The guy at the hydro shop says it similar to fox farm soils but not as hot as ocean forest. One thing I didn't like was that I would find a lot of stones a pieces of wood in the soil. Other than that it produces monsters!

my only problem with dairy doo is the fact that its from cows... while they are offering vermicompost right there... i'll stick to the earthworm castings.

HOWEVER...
i have heard that
they will make up your own mixes for you with other amendments as well.. so i'm thinking about heading there for that.

cheaper than ordering my amendments from Colorado.

The 301 mix has earthworm castings I believe. I was looking for something like Subcools mix and the 301 was pretty close. Please don't quote me on this it was a while and many brain cells ago. I will try to find the inredients again soon when I have some more time.

Yesterday I took a garbage can and mixed a seed starter 101 to one bag on Ocean Forest. Used that to transplant my Scott's OG and 818 headband.
Also some baby Goji OG and Sunshine Daydream. (y'all don't hear me)
