DAMNIT NOW WHAT IS IT? PIX included

I'm getting really sick of this... Plants were looking droopy with yellowing leaves, like last monday, four days later (Friday) i started using foxfarm grow big and they perked right up the next day, but the leaves which were yellowing didn't recover fully, obviously.

pH is around 6.5
using fox farm grow big at 1/4 strenghth. just watered today with 1/2 strength.

new plant growth looks good, older growth is dying!!! leaves are yellowing up as if there is no nitrogen, wtf is going on??? i'm in foxfarm soil, using foxfarm growbig, using distilled water ph'd to 6.5... the 400W HPS is two feet away. NOW what does it look like is ailing them Theyr'e four weeks old...

thats' to be expected. the old fucked up leaves will not recover, they will continue to die, or stay the same as they are. as long as the new growth looks ok you should be fine.

You're overwatering them. Don't expect the leaves to perk up; they are gone.

What's to be expected with that, that's a lot of death..

should be fine, or they will hermie, idk....... I had hermies before this happened to mine. but the further destruction of dieing leaves don't seem to bother them much.

hooooooow could i be overwatering them, i water twice a week, and i give them one cup of water... it doesn't even get the chance to leak out at the bottom.... am i really overwatering?! If that's too much water, then what isn't

that doesn't sounds like too much water to me..... although I don't use soil, so idk. but if the water never leaks out the bottom of the plant, you can't be overwatering it. try cutting back nutes maybe?

I think you are not giving enough water. The rule of thumb with a soil grow is water till it comes out of the bottom. Been doing it this way everytime i grow with zero problems. Try that and you will see a difference, a good one.

Also what is the npk of the grow big? The reason i ask is because if it is just a booster then it has no nitrogen and the babies need nitrogen. A full feeding system for vegging plants contains the npk combo that they need. A booster only contains potasium (p) and phosphorus (k).

When you do water you want to water enough to see drainage, but then you dont want to water again until the soil drys up pretty damn well. Cannabis loves a good fatty wattering, not a drowning mind you, but a good watering, it just doesn't like to always be wet like a lot of other plants. It needs the soaked to dry to soaked cycle going. With grow big you should be able to feed about 5ml per gallon of water to your babies, that's what I used all the way through my veg and now I'm using their flower nutes. Good luck.

Grow Big's NPK is 6-4-4, and with trace elements too, its like one of the most well-rounded nutes out there available to me... I can see why people are saying i'm over-watering, cuz the leaves look broad, but I guess i'll try the method of watering until i see it coming out of the bottom. I'm gonna be so pissed if they die, after all the money I invested

What are you using to test the Ph?

And what is the humidity in there?

Honestly I don't know what the humidity is, but I'm not in a dry climate. I assume that an enclosed environment helps with the humidity a bit, but it isn't totally enclosed since i open the closet doors to cool it out when i can.

I'm actually using a pH testing kit from the pet store; I don't know where to find a better one. I also have a ph/light/moisture meter i got from the hardware store, though it's meant for soil testing, it seems to follow the same reading as the pH tester from the petstore.

Sigh i feel like giving up

I agree, it can be frustrating as hell. Do the plants ever perk up like right after a watering? I'm leaning towards underwatering as well. What is the percentage of perlite in that soil? It looks pretty high. Did you add any perlite to the Fox Farms?

just to help you. put some plastic on the floor, you have nice carpet

They look underwatered and you need to increase it's nute intake. Give it a good soak and wait 4-5 days. When you give it water the next time use nutes high in N... Don't worry about the lower leaves the middle to the top is where you should be watching. When you'r ready to flower you should have most of the lower foliage trimmed away anyway.

Great advice and i agree. Your npk on the grow big is fine, do like 5 o'clock says and your girls will recover easily. They do need more food when you feed them again give them the recommended amount which is probably a full dose at this stage of growth.

I always put trays under plants and water from the bottom unless I'm flushing the dirt, but from the looks of the curled down leaves it's overfertilization. Too much love kills. You could have severely dried out the roots or overwatered them at some point, damaging the roots. Myself, I would stop fertilizing them and let the soil dry out somewhat between waterings. With light pro mix type mediums you can lift the containers and feel that they are dry before they get watered. I always wait til they start drooping before giving water and then water from the bottom and remove any excess water from below after ten minutes. Never leave water in bottom after they stop drinking
