I sure don't know. It's interesting to see what happens when we trick the plants, if anything. And then is it worth the farting around?

As men, we love to tweak shit that ain't broke.

It will also be less harsh than plants harvested in the light. It takes about 24 hrs to burn off all the stored starch. Obviously starch is not going to be nice to smoke. Now what would happen if you left it in the dark until it actually died? That would be some serious stress. You'd have to be careful of mold though.

I imagine there's a fine line of too much darkness. It could cause stress and make them die/stretch/herm or something

I wouldn't want to sacrifice a plant to find out though!!

I used to give the plants a couple of days of darkness before harvesting, because I was told to do so. The quality of my weed has steadily gone up during the years and I no longer give the plants darkness before harvest as I felt it was unnecessary. Grow frosty weed so you don't have to "trick" the plant in the end.
