I have read where almost EVERY light cycle has been tried. However, plants know that a day is 24 hours long. I once did a calculation to determine the minimum hours of light, anywhere in the world, where cannabis grows. It is 12 hour days at the end of the growing year in north Aghanastan. So 14/10 starts most strains into flowering.

What i do is give the plants 36 hrs of total darkness. It is supposed to give the plant a strong signal to start to flower. Others say it made no difference. This is one of those things that if ya think it helps then its fine. It will not do any harm.

Heard a few try it but never heard anything from it. Some even like to go 3 days dark before harvest but never seen anything come from either

Yup, some say it forces the plant into flower bc the plant thinks it is going to die and it wants to reproduce. So let us know how it goes.
