Darlness for 3 days, harvest main buds first or both?

Just wondering what is the consensus when it comes to leaving plants in darkness for 3 or 4 days and harvesting the main buds first.

Is it ok to do the 3 days of darkness then harvest the main colas, fire lights back to 12/12 for a week or so then harvest the lower buds or will that cause too much of a problem to the bottom buds?

What is your harvest routine?

Never use that method, not sure if it really does any good. I would assume if leaving lights off for 3 days, harvest tops and turn lights back on for lower buds may cause problems such as hermies and the likes.....just my opinion.

I've switched from 24/0 for veg then 12/12 for a while to flower for sexing then back to 24/0 to revegg for a couple months then back to 12/12 and had no ill effects.
I've also had my timer malfunction and keep the lights off for a couple days then back to 12/12 and it didn't do anything.
Some strains are more sensitive to going hermie though.
I can't remember if I did the lights off for a couple days before harvest or not, but I have harvested the main buds then let the inner buds keep growing for a couple weeks.
It's a common method.
